Not Every Craft Project Goes as Planned! 🀣

So, I decided today that I was going to make a headband and then make a flower to go on the headband. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Well... that's not how it went!

First, I used the wrong thread, and the fabric was too thick to pull together and stay in place. I had my mom recording my process, lol, but she is officially fired because she did not do a good job! She missed out on a lot of content. Next time, I'll just set up the camera stand myself.

Then she proceeded to tell me that she doesn't care after I told her that she was fired because she wasn't holding the camera right! LOL πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

To make matters worse, the button was too small for the middle of my flower, and it would not sit correctly on the headband. So, I ended up turning the fabric flower into a brooch instead.

Everything went completely differently than I planned, but oh well! I'll try again someday. Lol! πŸ˜‚β€οΈ

πŸ’œ A Respectful Reminder from Cheryl's Hat Emporium πŸ’œ
As milliners and hat designers, we pour countless hours, creativity, research, and investment into building our businesses. Every flower, trim, sinamay base, feather, embellishment, and design choice represents years of learning, networking, sourcing, trial and error, and financial risk.
While there is nothing wrong with asking questions, please understand that no hat maker is obligated to share their suppliers, sources, techniques, or business contacts.
Many people see a finished hat and assume the materials were easy to find. The reality is very different.
Most millinery supplies are not readily available in the United States. Many American hat makers source materials from England, France, Australia, Europe, Canada, Asia, and other international markets. We pay international shipping fees, customs charges, rising material costs, and spend countless hours researching quality suppliers.
Sharing every supplier, source, technique, and business contact can directly impact a small business's ability to compete and grow. For many of us, these relationships and resources are part of the foundation we have worked hard to build.
Please remember:
✨ Asking is not entitlement.
✨ A business owner has the right to say no.
✨ A recommendation is a gift, not a requirement.
✨ Supporting fellow creatives means respecting their boundaries.
Many small business owners are not wealthy. We are working hard to support our families, pay our bills, cover rising costs, and keep our businesses alive in an increasingly expensive economy.
Behind every beautiful hat is a real person investing time, money, sacrifice, and dedication.
Thank you to everyone who supports handmade artistry, respects professional boundaries, and understands the value of the work that goes into building a business. πŸ’œ
