Gonna mix things up a little with some special Hillbilly Jam Bonus Content: It finally happened - someone else showed up in yellow glasses! šŸ˜Ž

John W. Savage of Savage Knives actually surprised us at this year's Hillbilly Jam by wearing a pair of his own yellow glasses - then pulled out his phone for a selfie, because obviously that had to happen. šŸ˜…

For anybody who’s ever wondered about the yellow shades that keep showing up in our pictures, here’s the story:

They’re part of The Yellow Glasses Project, and you can find 'em at Dollar General for just $2, with the proceeds going to support literacy programs.
..and, No - we’re not ambassadors for The Yellow Glasses Project or anything like that. We just like the glasses, like what they support, and hope they don’t mind people like us representin’ for ’em. 😜

Big Beard and Will both started wearing ā€˜em here and there early last year. Somewhere along the way, though, they became the pair Big Beard just keeps reaching for - to the point that we’ve had people recognize him by the yellow glasses! ...the beard probably helps, too. šŸ˜„

And no, this wasn’t something we planned.

They were two bucks, a little ridiculous, and supported a good cause. We liked ā€˜em, bought more, kept wearing ā€˜em, and...that was enough. šŸ˜‚

Big Beard actually keeps several unopened pairs around now...just in case.

Fun extra: We also discovered, completely by accident, that these things (at least, the ones we've purchased in the past) light up like CRAZY under black lights! So, for two bucks, you get cheap sunglasses, support literacy programs, AND apparently receive complimentary nightclub equipment. 🄳

After the first pic with John, here’s a little bit about each picture:

* Will rockin’ ’em with Shana before the Dual Jar Release at Sugarlands in January of 2025
* Big Beard wearing ’em at the 2025 Popcorn Sutton Jam - Will’s are hangin' from his cargo pocket!
* Will sporting ’em at Hillbilly Jam 2025 - Big Beard couldn't find his, and that's why he has multiple pairs now...haha
* Big Beard crushin’ it in ’em while buying onions from the Lee County Shrine Club at this year’s Beattyville Appalachian Memories Festival
* Big Beard color-matchin’ with his Watermelon Crawlin’ shirt during the 2026 Popcorn Jam
* Big Beard lookin’ stylish in ’em next to Will in our Whiskeybite Workshop / MoonshineBros.store booth at Hillbilly Jam this year
* Finally, Big Beard slaying in ’em beside his niece during his field trip to CreepyCon Halloween & Horror Convention earlier this month
..and if you’re headed to Farm To Bottle Festival two weeks from tomorrow, there’s a pretty good chance one - or both - of us will be wearing a pair. šŸ˜‰

If you’ve got a pair of Yellow Glasses, share a picture in the comments or tag Big Beard & Still Will in your post!

Let’s see who wore ā€˜em better. 😁

Farm To Bottle is only a couple weeks away now, so here’s another one from last year’s event - Moonshiner-TN-TOM, Phil Billy, and Damon Beaty hangin’ out at the Phil Billy Moonshine booth! šŸ˜„

One of the best parts of Farm To Bottle is how easy it is to wander around, stop at a booth, and end up spendin' some time talking with people you know - or getting to know somebody new.

We’ve crossed paths with all three of these guys at different events over the years, and it’s always good seeing familiar faces in the same places.

We’ll be back in Wilmington, Ohio, on Saturday the 29th, and we’re already lookin’ forward to another day of exactly this kind of thing. ✊

Farm To Bottle is getting closer, so here’s one from last year with our buddy Douglas Taylor of Northern Yankee Moonshine - which recently celebrated its fourth anniversary! 🄳

We always enjoy running into Doug at events, hanging out, catching up, and talkin' shop. 😁

Here’s to four years of Northern Yankee Moonshine - and hopefully plenty more! šŸ»

Hard to believe Farm To Bottle is less than three weeks away! 🄳

Here’s a pic of us at the 2024 event with Benny ā€œTaterā€ Mcclure.

We had a great time hanging out with Tater, Beth, JB Rader, Kris Fortner, and several others on the last night of Hillbilly Jam this year - one of those nights where everybody finally gets a chance to slow down, sit around, and visit for a while. šŸ˜„

We’ll definitely be seeing Tater again on September 12th, at South Mountain Distilling, during the Triple Jar Release for him, Big Nick Calo, and the legendary JB Rader!

Apparently we just keep running into the same good people. šŸ˜‚

With Farm To Bottle Festival coming up later this month, we wanted to take a minute to give a proper shoutout to event organizer Dan Gray.

Dan is one of those people who seems to be everywhere at once - roaming through the event, checking on folks, keeping things moving, and making sure everybody is safe and having a good time.

He’s also just a genuinely fun guy to be around, and he’s always made Big Beard, Will, and Shana feel welcome.

Here are a couple shots with Dan from last year’s event.

Farm To Bottle wouldn’t be what it is without Dan and all the people working alongside him behind the scenes to keep the whole thing running.

We’re lookin’ forward to seeing everybody again when we make it up for Saturday later this month!

Just because we can’t make it doesn’t mean YOU can’t still go have a good time! šŸ˜‚

Adventure Distilling’s Petty Family Foundation Moonshine Run Celebration is tomorrow evening, and there are gonna be a whole lot of familiar faces from Moonshiners there - including Kelly Williamson, Mark & Digger, JB Rader, Josh Owens, and Mark Rogers, just to name a few.

Last night we shared a shot from the 2024 Josh Owens / Mark Ramsey "Moonshiners Birthday Bash" of Josh and Mark spending time with fans while Kelly signed a shirt on Mark’s back.

Well...this was OUR turn. šŸ˜„

Here we are hangin' out with Josh Owens, Mark Ramsey, and Daniel Maner at that same event.

That’s one of the things we’ve always enjoyed about Adventure Distilling - there’s usually plenty of time to visit, laugh, take pictures, and actually spend a little time with the people you came to see.

We hate that we can’t make it tomorrow, but we still hope everybody who can gets out there, supports Adventure Distilling and the Petty Family Foundation, and has a great time for us. 🄳

Unfortunately, life happens sometimes, so we won’t be able to make it to Adventure Distilling on Saturday for the Petty Family Foundation Moonshine Run Celebration.

Big Beard loves his old truck, but it’s definitely starting to remind him how old it is. šŸ˜…

Two weeks ago it needed a new alternator. Last week it was the brake master cylinder. This week it’s the oil sending unit and the coolant system, along with another round of brake bleeding, an oil change, and a few other critical maintenance items.

So, as much as we hate to miss it, this weekend has to go toward getting the truck sorted out and ready for Monday morning.

We are still planning to be at Farm To Bottle Festival on Saturday later this month!

If you’re headed to Adventure Distilling this weekend, go have a great time for us. šŸ˜„

Also, if you’re around Gatlinburg today, Richard Petty and Mark & Digger are doing a Meet & Greet at Sugarlands from 1:30 to 3:00pm. From what we’ve seen, the line is expected to be cut off somewhere between 2:00 and 2:30, so you may want to get there early.

We hate missing one, but we’ll catch everybody at the next one. ✊

The photo below was taken at the joint Josh Owens / Mark Ramsey "Moonshiners Birthday Bash," back in August of 2024, at Adventure Distilling - Josh is talking to fans while Kelly Williamson signs a shirt on Mark's back. šŸ˜…

So excited to be going to Adventure Distilling for the Petty Family Foundation Moonshine Run Celebration on Saturday! 🄳

It's this coming Saturday, August 8th, starts at 5pm, and...so many people from Moonshiners are going to be there!

Like Kelly Williamson, obviously (LOL), Mark & Digger, JB Rader, Josh Owens, and Mark Rogers...just to name a few.

The attached picture was taken at Adventure Distilling back in August of 2023 - We got to meet JB, Benny Mcclure, and Daniel Maner at the Sugarlands Shiner's Club Live charity event raising money for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!

If you're able to make it, come on out to Adventure on Saturday evening and have a good time! 😁

With Farm To Bottle coming up later this month, here’s one from the 2024 event with some familiar faces! 😁

We've got Joseph Wells Justice Jr (AKA Bad Santa), Damon Beaty (Guess What? You're Wrong podcast), and J.J. Jackson (Shots Fired & Poured podcast on YouTube).

A lot of folks may know J.J. from Moonshiners and Master Distiller, but what we remember most is getting to spend a long while with him at the campground later that night - first talking with Shana about the finer points of spiced rum, then with the rest of us about muck buckets and all kinds of other distilling knowledge.

That’s one of the things we’ve always liked about Farm To Bottle: the daytime event is only part of the story. šŸ˜„

We’ll only be there Saturday this year (and that includes Saturday night!), but we’re already lookin’ forward to seeing who turns up and what we end up learnin’.
