It was a great honor to work on the restoration of a piece that made TV history. For some of us space nerds the passing of Gil Gerard (RIP) marks the end of a sci-fi icon.
For me working on his costume brought back some childhood memories as Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was the first color image on a screen that I saw when my father brought home our first color TV.
Receiving the news he passed last Tuesday (Dec 16th) as I was (coincidentally and unknowingly) working on his garment made me have a moment of reflection.
Farewell into the eternal journey Mr. Gerard.
