What started in Jennifer's kitchen in 2006 has grown into a successful business where she hand-pours over 135 different scents of candles. As the sales for her wonderfully scented candles became more demanding, she began marketing her candles to wholesale clients in several different states, as well as being on the road three weekends a month traveling to 3 different markets.With raising two girls
of her own, Caitlin and Lacey, and helping with a stepdaughter, Ashley; tending to a barn full of horses, plus a husband, Greg, who works offshore and is rarely ever home, it all soon became too stressful so the family decided Jennifer should open her own shop. Jennifer opened her shop on March 7, 2007, and was able to double the size within 6 months. The purchase of their new store in 2009 located on 1617 East Lafayette St, has more than double the size of her business once more. With many customer requests, Jennifer decided in the Spring of 2009 to take state boards to become a licensed florist. Jennifer wanted to be able to better serve her customers in Winn and surrounding parishes by adding fresh flowers to her profession. The birth of their first grandson, Kaiden Slade, on September 12, the relocation of the business in October, and the birth of their first granddaughter, Ella Kate, on November 3, along with setting up the shop from the move and decorating for Christmas, has meant for a VERY BUSY 2009 for Jennifer and her family. Since the move Jennifer has been able to offer her customers a greater variety of hand-poured candle scents, FRESH and silk floral arrangements for all occasions, gift baskets and unique gift items. Also she has added a custom embroidery machine; women's Southern Belle, Small Town Girl, and Bejeweled shirts; bling handbags and a wide selection of jewelry.
