Ugh, we have lost two absolute legends this week. I was a huge Rocky Horror Picture Show fan but Legend is one of my earliest favorite films and Tim Curry was an enormous part of that. He was fantastic in every role he portrayed but he was absolutely riveting as Darkness. He was also apparently a lovely person. I friend of mine interacted with him in a coffee shop in LA and he was very gracious but also every bit as charismatic as you would expect him to be based on his acting presence. I have dreaded losing him every bit as much as I dreaded losing Dolly.

I made one of these quilted witch hats as a one off show exclusive, but they have proved popular so I've kept making them! They are definitely a labor of love, so I won't have them in 'stock' but rather will try to have at least one at my in person shows. This is a lovely blue tones one that was special ordered recently.

Throwback to summer of 1990 - When I was studying costume design in college, I worked as a seamstress during the summer at the Berkshire Theater Festival. There were fabulous parties on opening nights of plays for which I would make fun outfits. My sister came to visit and I made us these from various scraps left over from costumes. Very Sound of Music. I think one of the scene painters snapped this.

I love how the acorn caps look when they're done, I just wish they were easier to make 😅 I’m always glad when a customer orders one though! It's great to have an excuse to make them even though they are a bit too complicated to keep in stock all the time. And every one of them turns out a little bit differently from the others. 🤔
