💍 A Little 2026 Wedding Season Update…

August has been WILD around here! Between fittings, sewing, pickups, and keeping up with very full racks, we’ve officially reached a milestone:
WE ARE FULL FOR 2026 WEDDING DRESSES! 🚨

Our wedding gown books are now closed for the 2026 season.

Thank you to every bride who trusted us with such an important part of her wedding day. ❤️ It means more than you know!

👗 Bridesmaid & Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses:
We still have a small number of openings available but we’ll be closing those books within the next 2 to 3 weeks.

So… we’ve been a little MIA on social media. ✨

And no, we haven’t disappeared. We’ve just been WAY too busy making bridal gowns fit like they were made for you!👰‍♀️✂️😂

There’s been A LOT happening behind the scenes at Amy’s Alterations, and wedding season is officially in FULL SWING!

Our racks are packed.
Our sewing machines are working overtime.
Our appointment book is just about FULL.
And we are LOVING every minute of it! 🤍

We’ve been busy with beautiful wedding gowns, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, and all the little details that turn a beautiful dress into the perfect fit.

**Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans... and this is one of those moments.**

ATTENTION FALL BRIDES & BRIDESMAIDS!👰‍♀

If your wedding is coming up this fall you are NOT on my schedule yet, you need to contact me NOW.

I will be having elbow surgery to fix a torn tendon the last week of October and will be out of the shop recovering for several weeks.
October is the most popular month of the entire year for weddings and the next few weeks are my busiest time of the year. I will not be able to squeeze in last-minute alterations. (I put the surgery off as long as I could but it HAS to be done so trying to squeeze it in between wedding season and prom season).

💍November brides who are already scheduled:
Don't worry! I'll be reaching out personally to move your fitting and pickup dates earlier so your dress is finished before my surgery.

Every year in the past I always heard:
"I thought I had plenty of time."

This year, time is even shorter.

If your dress still needs alterations, don't put it off another day.
Message me and get on the calendar before it's too late.

Just because your wedding is months away doesn't mean your alteration appointment should be!

What many brides don't realize is that wedding dress alterations often require more than one fitting, and our appointment calendar fills up long before the leaves start changing. 🍂

This photo is our rack right now... and we're not even in peak fall wedding season yet. This is technically our "slow season". 🙃

So if you're an October bride (or November!), consider this your friendly reminder that "plenty of time" has a funny way of turning into "Do you have ANY openings left?!" very quickly.

With a new month comes some important updates—and this one is a bit of a tough one to share.

Beginning immediately, we will be transitioning to **formal wear alterations only**.

I know this may be disappointing for many of our customers, and I truly am sorry. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one I had to make for both my family and myself. Simply put—I can’t do it all.

As much as I would love to continue altering everything for everyone, it’s just not possible. Since reopening, I’ve been at the shop sewing six days a week, and that pace isn’t sustainable long-term. At this stage in life, working 50–60 hours a week just isn’t something I can continue to do.

In order to best serve our customers while also creating a healthier balance, the right step is to restructure and narrow our focus.

Moving forward, we will be offering alterations for **formal wear and wedding dresses only**.

We do hope to find a trusted, qualified seamstress to refer all other types of alterations to in the near future.

We truly appreciate each and every one of you and your continued support.

Please know this decision was not made lightly, and we’re so grateful for your understanding 💛

✨ We’re celebrating 2 months back in business at Amy’s Alterations! ✂️🧵
What an INCREDIBLE two months it has been! We truly can’t thank everyone enough for the overwhelming love and support since reopening our doors. You all have kept us so busy doing what we love most ❤️

In just these first 2 months, we’ve altered:
👗 51 prom dresses
👰 10 wedding dresses
💐 9 bridesmaid dresses
👗 7 regular dresses
👖 43 pairs of pants hemmed
🪡 23 miscellaneous alteration items
That’s 143 items completed in just 2 months! 🤯

After 4.5 years away, coming back has felt like we never left… and
that’s all because of YOU.

Thank you for trusting us with your special moments, important events, and favorite pieces. We’re so grateful to be part of this community again and excited for all that’s still to come!

Here’s to 2 amazing months… and many more ahead! 🥂✨
