Now I know everything is expensive right now- and it’s hard out here for everyone.
Please remember that hair services are a luxury. I’ve been told that I’m too expensive, or someone say “JEEZ” after I quote them for a hair color.
I am a small business owner, a mother, and I have a deep passion for what I do.
That photo right there of my recent Salon Centric and CosmoProf run- ran me about $530.
It’s not that many items either.
I care about what I put on your hair, and this is not including wear and tear on the tools that I have and have to upkeep. Continuing my education to be better every day. Styling products, etc..
This is not to make anyone feel bad about getting a luxury service. This is to help educate you and to tell you to give your hairstylist or service provider some grace on what we charge. I understand that it may be expensive for some people but this is how I make my living and I care a lot about it. You do not have to get a service done. My haircuts used to be $55 in Grand Rapids. If $35 is too much for a haircut I would be happy to give you some other options.
No need to make comments or sigh  after I quote you.
Another thing I want to talk about is giving me grace with how far I am booking out. Sometimes it’s hard for me to squeeze in what you will call a quick haircut. I have shoppers in at the same time I am doing hair, and I am the only person in here. I do weddings on weekends and I’m a mother that wants to spend time with her babies after work.
I do have priorities and it is hard for me to come in or stay late because that does cut into my family time. So when I say I can’t get you in for a couple weeks, I’m not saying that just to say it that is just my first available.. I do not typically block a lunch so I can accommodate another haircut. Starting in about a week, my son goes back to school and you will notice that I will be closed from 2:30 to 3:30 to be able to get him from school and get him settled at the salon with me.
I’m unbelievably grateful for all of you and your support, I mean, my colors are booking into mid October.
Even though I’m a small town hairstylist, I am extremely booked so I know the price of my services are not an issue for a lot of you and I appreciate that. You keep me busy and you still keep shopping. Thank you, everybody from the bottom of my heart.
But remember that I am just one person, and I have a lot of love and passion.
But please, when I say I can’t get you in right away. Just try to remember that. I try my best to do what I can, but if you know that you have an event or back to school, you need to also plan ahead. I’ve had a few no call no shows lately and if this is still an issue I will require a deposit to book no matter what. Please be considerate because I truly try to be and I’m the most understanding person. But I have a family to support and a business to run..
