Turning snowflakes into sunshine! ☀️🇵🇭
Finding a mold for the iconic Filipino sun pendant here in the US is almost impossible without paying for a custom order. I was looking through mold options and noticed a snowflake pattern with so much potential—so I decided to take matters into my own hands! With a little bit of patience and my carving tools, I shaved off the extra edges to bring out the rays of the sun.
Here is my very first hand-carved Filipino sun resin piece! Crafting between my study sessions has been the ultimate creative therapy, keeping me grounded while I prepare for nursing school.

P.S. I know the official flag sun has 8 rays and this test run ended up with 12—let's just say this first batch is radiating maximum energy! ☀️ I'm calling it artistic freedom for prototype No. 1. 😁 Should I trim it down to 8 for the next version, or keep the extra shine to keep it a little more of my own original style rather than copying other designers?
