And maybe this time of year is a good reminder for us parents, too.
Be the model at home. Teaching starts at HOME.
Show them what kindness looks like, sounds like.
Show them how to be respectful, even when they disagree. And yes it's okay to disagree, your still able to be friends.
Teach them to include instead of exclude.
Remind them to notice the kid standing on the outside.
To look out for the underdog. Be a daymaker.
To be the friend they’d want someone else to be.
Because our kids are watching how we treat people far more than they’re listening to what we tell them.
So as we head into another school year, let’s raise kids who are proud of where they come from, who show up for their community, and who know that being a good human will always matter more than being the coolest one in the room. 🐯💙🧡
