Tucked along M-26 in the Keweenaw, just steps from Jacob’s Falls, there’s a tiny roadside bakery run by monks — and yes, it’s every bit as magical as it sounds.

At The Jampot, you’ll find floor-to-ceiling shelves of small-batch jams made from wild berries (think gooseberry and chokecherry), plus legendary rum-soaked abbey cakes wrapped in cheesecloth. The monks of Holy Transfiguration Skete have been here since 1983, baking, preserving, and embracing life in one of Michigan’s wildest, most beautiful corners.

Pro tip: grab a ginger beer, snag a picnic table by the falls, and let the smell of fresh bread and pine trees do the rest.
