Down jackets are so nice and warm but boy are they messy to work with!

Its been awhile since ive posted but this was a very interesting fix. The bodice was too low cut but the dress was also 1.5" too long. Removed 1" of the previous hem aĺowing enough to rehem. Took that and divided into 6 equal pieces. Applied them to a backing to duplicate the pin tucking. Attached to bodice. Worked perfectly with not a speck of fabric to spare. Sometimes you gotta think outside of the box.

Great day to get caught up on alterations! Snowy and cold outside. This dress had multiple areas to alter but we're gonna concentrate of taking in the back just to the waist.

Check out my baby! My Singer 301A cira 1957. It's very special because it was my mother's birthday gift from my dad. I can't imagine how many miles and miles of seams it's sewn. It's been quite a workhorse for me too in my past 35+ years or so of custom sewing and alterations.
