Scop drop coming next week (9/5) for LGC’s first *official* San Pedro Saturday! You guys liked the san pedro so much that I’m working on expanding this little corner of my shop into a small cactus nursery. Next in line for this adventure is Scop aka Spineless San Pedro! It’s everything San Pedro is just without those dastardly spines. San pedro with spines will remain available.

Now here are some facts about the Scop cactus for the nerds…
1. Scop is a shortened name for “Trichocereus Scopulicola”
2. The cactus originates from Bolivia
3. The specific strain that will be available is a hybrid of MP Scop x Dr. G Scop
4. Each cactus is about 8” tall and grows fast
5. This cactus comes from a lineage that has been wild growing and treated with respect by the majority of the cultures that had access to them for at least 3000 years.
6. Treat them right and they will not plot against you.

Attention all Central Marketers. I say with a little sadness that the coin dino is retiring from LGC and is starting a new chapter for himself. He was tired of being mistreated by a handful of small children. He will still be around for another week or two so bring some change and say your goodbyes.

What’s new?

The small space where the dino once was will be transformed into a cactus nursery. I will have a variety of sacred cacti available every saturday in an event I’ll call “San Pedro Saturday”. Coming soon.

Again, I apologize to all the kids (and adults) out there who enjoyed the thing almost as a market ritual but it is time for something new.

Very soon (hopefully next week) I will be expanding my inventory in a new direction… Cacti! But not just any cacti. No. LGC will be selling prized ornamental cacti with some mysterious and lesser known roots deeply embedded throughout many cultures of the Americas. It has been a symbol of divine connection to these cultures for thousands of years.

The cactus I am speaking of is known as Huachuma, or San Pedro as the gringos say (or PC, if you’re a botanist). It has been used by shamans for thousands of years as a means to access the spirit realm and to communicate with ancestors. Traditional use involves brewing the fresh cactus into a broth before consumption. (yuck!)

Today this cactus is primarily known for its beautiful complexion and is surprisingly relatively common. They might even be found in your back yard if you live in the south west. The particular kind of Huachuma that I will be offering is scientifically known as Trichocereus Pachanoi. They grow fast and may live another 60-70 years in the right conditions.

While I wait for my inventory to arrive, I invite you to come down to my stand and ask any questions you may have pertaining to the cactus.

This is kind of a random post but I feel like I need to get this off my chest.

Just last month was Mental Health Awareness Month. I didn’t do anything special this year. It kind of slipped by me I guess.

In the small town I come from, it was difficult to find a sense of community. I honestly didn’t know what the term meant. I’m not going to diss Chambersburg, but I will say York has so much more to offer. There’s art, and music, and life. So many cool things to do and see. But above all else, the community here has been wonderful. You’ve treated me with respect despite my illness. And I know sometimes I might act weird, but none of you have ever put that against me. I really appreciate that.

I didn’t know what to expect when I first opened up in Central Market in 2024. I wasn’t sure if this situation was gonna work. I didn’t go to school for business or even art for that matter. But I did it anyway because I had a dream. And you all helped make my dream a reality. It wasn’t easy, and I couldn’t have gotten this far without the help from the people who supported me for all these years. Unconditional love. This is what community means to me.

Whether you’ve just discovered this page, or if you’ve been watching for a while, thank you for believing in me. I swear some of you believe in my art even more than I do sometimes lol. So stick around I’ve got some cool new stuff cooking. Right now I’m focusing on filling up that sticker display with brand new art.

Hey guys! I have MANY unglazed (not yet painted) clay faces. Going into this, I thought I would only be selling “completed” clay things, however I did not anticipate how much I’d enjoy the initial creating process. I now have more of these little guys than I will be able to color.

So… then I thought “maybe I can share the wonder of these little things in a way that another person can truly be connected to”. I will now be selling “Blank Clay Things” (for a discounted price) for You, your little ones, friends, or whoever else to paint, glaze, or otherwise decorate. The creative experience, with a head start.
