Good Morning! It has been a loooong 9 months! I spent the last few months preparing for the LSAT, taking the test, applying to Law School and finally accepting a full tuition offer from Regent University! Jeff tells me I have an unlimited capacity to dream and pursue my dreams! He may be right! I am grateful to have this drive, persistence and ability to pursue my passions! Almost Home has been such a fulfilling journey.

Over the next few months, I plan to transition my page to showcasing my dad’s, Brian Custer, amazing and talented work. I can’t wait to share his projects with you all. If you are local to Yorktown, I can set up delivery. If you are local to Somerset, stop out at Merchant’s Village and see his work in person! 💕

Hello Faithful Friends! I have poured my heart into this business over the last year, and I have absolutely loved the journey. I am sad to say, I am closing my booth at Best of Everything. I am pursing other dreams and sadly do not have the time to dedicate to my booth that I have previously. However, I AM still going to paint furniture and may occasionally sell it :) I love all things vintage and upcycled so this page will remain here and as time permits, I will update it. It’s been a busy season of life with Mother’s Day and visiting family. I’ve finally had some time to paint and finished up this cute table this morning. Painted in Mediterranean which is a “blue teal” color, and I don’t think the photos truly show it’s beauty. I tried a new chalk paint transformer for the base and I really love how easy it makes painting! The top is a mix of Dixie Belle’s “hurricane gray and antebellum blue.” I love the rustic look it gave the top. The top is sealed and waxed for added protection. It’s available at the booth now and offered at $107.

I was offered a table by a neighbor and well me being me, I couldn’t resist, so I asked Jeff to pick it up for me.....that was months ago.....I’ve been working on this table for months! It’s been a labor of love ...well mostly loathe but honestly it is gorgeous now, and I’m really proud of myself for taking on such a challenging project! The table top is a beautiful mix of weathered grey and whitewash and sealed with poly for extra protection. The chairs were hand painted (never again 😂) with a super durable enamel matte paint in “frost,” with amazing high end fabric from Artee. I took a gamble on mixing the fabric for the arm chairs and sitting chairs and it really turned out to be stunning. I love the way the grey on the table top complements both fabrics! The set was missing a chair, so I decided to improvise and added a neat piano bench in its place. The table comes with 3 sitting chairs, 2 arm chairs, and a bench. It’s perfect for a large family. I hope it finds it new home soon!

Dropping these off at the booth today!

I just finished up this gorgeous pair of end tables/nightstands. The two toned look makes these two so unique! Dixie Belle’s “Stormy Seas” and “French Linen” are the perfect pair! The refreshed hardware adds a bit of elegance to the lightly distressed look! Dixie Belle’s No Pain Gel Stain creates a silky smooth finish on the top. With a busy Spring break week ahead, I finished up these two small projects. They are headed to the booth this afternoon.

A tiny bench perfect for a mudroom, bathroom or bedroom. Painted in Dixie Belle’s “French linen” and white wax with new fabric from Artee.

A dainty and unique side table painted in Dixie Belle’s “antebellum blue” and black wax with a stained and poly sealed top. Perfect for small spaces! I love the natural wood look and how it compliments the blue so well.

Sneak peek of a quick project this week. I have been working on an amazing table with 5 chairs and a bench, and I needed a project while I wait for coats of paint to dry. This cute little table should be done tomorrow 😁

I’m slightly obsessed with Dixie Belle’s “vintage duck egg” these days. I think I’ve used it on several of my latest projects. I just love the hints of blues and greens that it creates! I just finished up these nightstands and the top is beachy yet rustic and I love it! Overall, I used Dixie Belle’s “cotton” and “chocolate,” along with some antique glaze to really highlight the details. The top and shelf have been sealed with poly and the doors waxed for added protection. To finish it off, I added brand new gorgeous k***s and a fancy gold liner inside! They also are on wheels! But if that’s not your thing, they can easily be removed. They are headed to the booth in the morning and offered at $186 for the pair.
