🌿 Ypsi Botanica Hours Update!

Since Ypsi Botanica is currently a one-human operation (hi, it’s me 👋), my hours will change from week to week while I balance the salon, bridal work, and all things plants.

To make it easy, I’ll post my hours every two weeks, so you’ll always know when to stop by. 💚

This Week
🌿 Monday: 12PM–4 PM
🌿 Tuesday: 2 PM–6 PM
🌿 Wednesday: 2 PM–6 PM
🌿 Friday: 4 PM–6 PM

Next Week
🌿 Monday: 12 PM–6 PM
🌿 Tuesday: 2 PM–8 PM
🌿 Friday (First Friday!): 12 PM–7 PM

The Coterie will still be open with our hairstylists during their normal business hours, but these are the times I’ll be in for Ypsi Botanica. Available for plant shopping, repotting, custom soil mixes, and all your plant questions.

No sparkle filter needed, those silver leaves are real (and prettier in person!)

Peperomia ‘Frost’ is one of those plants that makes people do a double take. Its shimmery, metallic foliage catches the light beautifully, while its compact size makes it perfect for desks, shelves, and those little spots that need a touch of life.

The best part? It’s incredibly easygoing.

💚 Care Tips
☀️ Bright, indirect light is ideal, but it’ll tolerate medium light too.
💧 Let the soil dry out about halfway before watering. These thick leaves store water, so it’s much happier a little dry than constantly wet.
🪴 Use a chunky, well-draining soil mix to keep the roots healthy.
🐾 Bonus: It’s pet-friendly, making it a great choice for homes with curious cats and dogs.

💡 Ypsi Botanica Tip: Think of your Peperomia like a succulent’s leafy cousin. Those thick, fleshy leaves act as tiny water reservoirs, so if you’re ever unsure whether to water, wait another day. Overwatering is the quickest way to upset this plant!

Pretty enough to catch your eye, easy enough to keep around.

With soft green leaves, blush-pink veins, and a subtle rosy glow, Berry Allusion is one of those plants that quietly steals the show. Whether it’s on your desk, bookshelf, or plant shelf, it brings a fresh pop of color without demanding a ton of attention.

💚 Care Tips
☀️ Bright, indirect light keeps the colors vibrant.
💧 Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry.
🪴 A chunky, well-draining soil mix will keep those roots happy.
🌿 As it grows, it can trail beautifully or climb a moss pole for larger leaves.

💡 Ypsi Botanica Tip: Try bottom watering! Place your pot in a shallow dish of water for about 15–20 minutes and let the roots drink from below. It encourages deeper root growth, helps prevent overwatering, and keeps the top layer of soil drier; making it a less inviting place for fungus gnats to lay their eggs.

The one that started it all 🌿✨
Golden Pothos is that effortlessly cool staple…trailing vines, marbled greens, and zero interest in being high maintenance. She’s the plant you recommend to everyone… and still keep one (or five) for yourself.

Beginner-friendly, but never boring.

Care, but don’t over think it:
☀️ Low to bright, indirect light (she’s flexible like that)
💧 Let soil dry out between waterings—she’d rather be thirsty than soggy
🌿 Not picky about humidity, but appreciates it
🪴 Regular potting soil works just fine
✂️ Trim to keep her full, or let her trail and do her thing

💡 Bonus: super easy to propagate…snip, water, repeat
