Kicking it old school with 80s Duran Duran on a 1994 Sony CFD-540 recently aquired along with a VHS copy of "The Rose" with ole Bette Midler. One day I'll tell the story how I met Bette at the Mandarin Oriental Miami hotel and did not get an autograph due to "her" not me. It was after I did pit security at the Miami Nascar Pennzoil 400 race in 1999 and saw half her show free as a couple exited the venue and handed me a free set of tickets and said hope you like it better than we did. Going to see one of my favorite bands tonight in a sold out show here in Orlando The Fixx. Cy Curnin lead singer was kind enough to take a few moments around sound check to sign a few vinyls. We first met 42 years ago in 1984 during a stop in my hometown Cleveland Ohio on the Phantoms tour the place was Jim Swingo's famous rock and roll hotel "Swingos Keg and Quarter Hotel". We met the next morning while the band was going for breakfast the morning after a great show at Public Hall the evening before.
