We’ve all got our favourite t-shirts and linen sets that come out for warm days and special nights. But then again, sometimes you want a different cut. Sometime you don’t see elsewhere, but that feels just right. Inspired by the amazing Japanese silhouettes we saw in Kyoto last spring and made from our favourite fabric.

A bit of life back home

We started with a white pair of swimming trunks - a blank canvas that we invited artists each year to make their own. These became our prints. Limited edition collections made of watercolours, paper collages, geometric tiles, graphite sketches.

We love that collaborations been at the heart of it since the beginning and continues through to everything we do.

The best part of it has been working with you guys, hearing what you love, would change and want more of. It’s how our linens, like our signature trousers were made. By you, for you.

We’re in London for a few weeks before the season starts back home in Uruguay. It’s freezing, we’ve got Mamas and Papas playing on repeat and the daily wear is our linen jacket… the one we’ll wear again soon by the sea. A jacket to take you through the seasons, to layer up or pack light. In a few new colours, in our store now and on our website in the new year.

There’s a lot of everything out there in the world so we’re doing things a bit differently.

Making in small batches, limited editions, of very special pieces. This season, we had the opportunity to work with a brilliant British artist, Lauri Hopkins. She made 3 prints we couldn’t love more, and placed them on our new crew necks.

They’re made from 100% organic Japanese cotton, in a silhouette inspired by a top we found in Kyoto this year and couldn’t wait to replicate.

Limited editions are special, only 75 of each are made, but our aim was to make them highly wearable. Pieces you could wear daily, casual, comfortable, but unique.

Watching the euros tonight and copa tomorrow, and Uruguay playing on Thursday. This has to be one of the best months…

We’d wait all year for the first summer swim. For the ocean to be just right (before the days cold water swimming was so trendy). And the trunks were so uninspired, so bland, and not at all up for the occasion.
Suits were impeccably made but swimwear, an after thought, and it didn’t seem right.
James helped design the perfect silhouette, or canvas, for the artists that join us every year to create a limited edition print.
This was one of my favourites.
