Nhấp một ngụm trà nóng, nhìn sang cây bông gòn bên đường Nguyễn Trung Trực, cô Thuý kể là ngày xưa các bà các mẹ toàn dùng quả này để nhồi làm ruột gối. Vì nó vừa nhẹ, êm và dùng lâu cũng không bị hôi.

Cứ đến tháng 5, tháng 6 là lại thấy quả bông nở trắng ở một vài góc đường quanh Hà Nội. Bọn mình thấy thích thú một thứ quả vừa đẹp lại vừa công năng như thế. Và ấp ủ về việc sẽ lại dùng quả bông gòn để làm một thứ gì đó hữu dụng giống như cách các bà các mẹ đã làm ngày trước.
