FLOW by Susan Shin October 7 2023 - December 9 2023

Most of the artworks in this collection aim to capture the essence of colors in motion. Susan’s paintings do not rely on primary or achromatic colors, much like Monet’s palette. Instead, each artwork is created based on Susan’s experiences, emotions, and feelings on that particular day. She starts by choosing the first color based on her emotions, allowing it to guide her in creating new colors and expressing the flow as it naturally occurs. The result is a collection of paintings that tell their own stories and evoke different feelings depending on the viewer’s perspective. However, there is always a sense of peacefulness conveyed through the natural flow of colors. Join us at Jumarc Korean Modern Bar Kitchen from October 7, 2023, to December 9, 2023, as we celebrate the captivating world of Susan Shin: FLOW. when a day is closed through different states of mind. Exhaustion and weariness are portrayed through a cool, calming color tone. A pleasant sense of loneliness combined with the peaceful feeling of becoming one with your surroundings. That’s what I tried to convey through these three paintings.

The side that is more gentle and quiet It’s a generation of youngsters with many plans, thoughts, and hesitations for the lifelong journey ahead.

nhưng đó như là phần nổi của tảng bằng chìm vậy. Triển lăm “Đọng" mang đěn cho
người xem một khía cạnh khác của tuổi trẻ - một khía cạnh nhẹ nhàng và tĩnh lặng
hơn, với nhiều kế hoạch, suy tự, trắn trở và một chứt do dự trước cuộc hành trình dài

Vùng sống mô tả một không gian giả tưởng. Với tôi, đó là sự mãn nhãn trong một “VÙNG SỐNG” - nơi ta có thể đặt mình ở một thế giới khác, một không gian khác, một thời điểm khác. Anh tôn thờ vẻ đẹp của tự nhiên và không thích giới hạn cảm xúc trong những khái niệm. Trinh kết hợp vẽ trên cả lụa và giấy Giang đã khiến những bức tranh của Trinh mang hiệu ứng tầng tầng, lớp lớp. Sự mềm mại của những nét vẽ lụa lại kết hợp với sự phóng khoáng, tung tẩy nhảy trên nền giấy Giang, sự khiêm tốn của Trinh trong những nét vẽ được dìm đi…khiến người xem cứ xem mãi, khám phá mãi, như rơi hẳn vào “Vùng Sống” mà Trinh đã vẽ ra.

Haven depicts a fictional space - an aesthetically pleasing realm - where one can immerse in another world, another land, or another time. The artist idolizes natural beauty and detests emotional limitations within ideologies. This mentality is evident in his work. Having both silk and Giang paper as canvas, Trinh brings a sublime layering effect to this series. The soft, refined paint from silk juxtaposes with the unfettered, jubilant imprints on Giang paper. Trinh's modest brushstrokes are overwhelmed, while captivating the viewers, setting them on an endless journey of discovery, and completely submerging them in the Haven that he architected.
