Vietnam Leather and Footwear Business Delegation to Attend the AFA EXPO International Trade Fair in Canada and Conduct Market Research (August 10–19, 2025)

In order to further promote trade activities, seek new partnerships, and expand export opportunities for Vietnam’s leather and footwear industry in the North American market, the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Business Delegation will participate in the AFA EXPO 2025 in Canada, in combination with market research programs in major Canadian cities, from August 10 to 19, 2025.

AFA EXPO is recognized as one of the most prestigious and large-scale trade fairs in North America specializing in footwear, fashion, and accessories. The event attracts hundreds of global brands, international buyers, retail chains, as well as manufacturers and designers from around the world. The exhibition will take place from August 12 to 14, 2025, at the Toronto Congress Centre, Toronto, Canada.

The Vietnamese delegation is expected to include approximately 20 outstanding enterprises in the fields of footwear, handbags, materials, components, and related services. These companies will not only showcase their products and capabilities at AFA EXPO but will also engage in direct B2B networking sessions with international buyers, conduct market and distribution channel surveys, and hold working meetings with trade promotion organizations and industry associations in Canada.

This trade and market research program is expected to open up numerous new opportunities for cooperation, enhance competitiveness, and support Vietnamese enterprises in accessing the Canadian market—a promising market with high purchasing power, rigorous standards, and strategic importance as a gateway to North America.

The event is part of the National Trade Promotion Program 2025, organized by the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (LEFASO) in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Office in Canada.

It originated from Tam Lam Village - the common name of 3 villages Phong Lam, Van Lam and Truc Lam, usually called 3 Tram villages where was the homeland of the three Progenitors who enlightened leather tanning and shoemaking in Vietnam more than 5 centuries ago (the reign of Emperor Le Thanh Ton in 1484).
The titles of the three Progenitors who enlightened leather tanning and shoemaking in Vietnam are:
- Pham Quy Cong tuDuc Chinh.
- Nguyen Quy Cong tu Si Ban.
- Pham Quy Cong tu Thuan Chinh.
To commemoratethe three Progenitors who enlightened leather tanning and shoemaking, Tam Lam brand was born since then.
Over the past 500 years, the trade village has increasingly developed, there has been a wide variety of models and people have constantly improved their skills. Up to present, there have been many skilled artisans who practiced and passed the torch nationwide, mainly Hanoi and Saigon. It has satisfiedthe demand for leather nationwide and partiallysatisfied the demand for exports.
