JumpStart is an Afterschool Program and Summer Camp serving District 5 Schools in Spartanburg County. Shuttle Service!:
JumpStart buses pick up from all District 5 Elementary Schools (Abner Creek, Reidville, River Ridge, Duncan, Lyman, and Wellford), as well as Beech Springs and Berry Shoals. The shuttle safely transports them to our facility after school. JumpStart also provides a shuttle service
for those Rhythms Dance students who need to be transported to the Rhythms Dance Studio located around the corner at 1582 E. Proximity!:
JumpStart is located in the center of Spartanburg County School District 5 at the Rhythms Tumbling and Gymnastics Center. The facility is right off of Hwy 290 at 253 Tucapau Rd. Duncan, SC. Safety!:
Providing a safe environment for your child is JumpStart's #1 priority and goal. Upon pickup at each school, our bus drivers make sure each JumpStart child is accounted for and checked off their list (any absentees will be noted and verified with the school before the driver leaves). Once at JumpStart, all children are signed in again – this time, by their age appropriate teachers. The Facility!:
JumpStart is located inside Rhythms Tumbling and Gymnastics Center. Your child will have access to our huge 10,000 sf heated building that is up fitted in two separate sections: JumpStart AND the spacious indoor gym. The JumpStart side includes a lobby, office, a FUN lounge/cafe area for the kids with a big screen TV, spacious classrooms with computer stations, a kitchen area, a WII station area, and a fuse ball/air hockey area. Healthy vending machines are also located inside the building. On the gym side, the kids get to have free play time certain days during the week as well as take their weekly gymnastics class which is included in tuition. The Staff!:
You need not have a great facility without a great staff. Everyone employed at JumpStart is thoroughly thought out before they are hired. Your child will be treated with the love and support they need and deserve. Educational!:
JumpStart is dedicated in surrounding your children with the area’s best directors, teachers, and coaches/instructors. Homework help and tutoring is the cornerstone of our program. First, our classrooms are grouped according to grade levels. And second, computer stations will be available to help them with their assignments in addition to one on one accessibility with any of our outstanding tutors. With a superior student/teacher ratio, JumpStart will assist your child in every way possible to help complete their daily studies. Devotional!:
JumpStart is founded upon Christian principles, and it therefore has time allotted once a week for devotion. Whenever possible, a couple of our area pastors assist our teachers in providing a biblical lesson to the children. Recreational!:
Healthy activities are provided everyday within our huge indoor Tumbling and Gymnastics Center. Each child also receives an included gymnastics class weekly and dance class semi-weekly. All of our coaches/instructors are extremely experienced in their field and take a lot of pride in helping JumpStart's children better themselves not only athletically but to also gain confidence in themselves. Everyday at JumpStart is designed to be a fun environment for the kids. On Fridays we like to throw in popcorn, a movie, bouncy houses & slide, an indoor basketball area and other fun activities. MORE INFORMATION:
Hours: JumpStart is open Monday-Friday from 2pm-6pm for afterschool programs and 7am-6pm on school holidays, teacher workdays, Spring Break, and during our summer camps. Holidays: JumpStart is closed in recognition of all National Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. JumpStart may close on the day before the observed Holiday. In this case, notice will be posted in advance. JumpStart is closed the week between Christmas day and New Year’s Day. No tuition is accessed this week. Weekly tuition is the same during the academic year regardless of a holiday closing, with the exception of Spring Break and Christmas. JumpStart is open teacher workdays with no added fees. JumpStart is open Spring Break week. This is an optional week. If you do not attend, no tuition is assessed. Closings: JumpStart follows All Spartanburg County School District 5 Weather Delays/Closings. No tuition credits are applied if a day(s) is missed due to inclement weather. Grade Levels for JumpStart: JumpStart will accept grade levels K4 through 6th grade.
