Huge thanks to Kylie Pentelow for having me on BBC Woman's Hour this morning with Leo’s to take about NICU and why there should be more support for parents!

I find it staggering that people don’t know the following:

1 in 7 babies spend time in the NICU

40% of parents get PTSD symptoms after (25% are formally diagnosed) I think the real rate is much higher!

NICU doesn’t end at discharge

We need opt out mental health support which catches us during the first year and far beyond.

It makes economic sense and emotional sense for the wellbeing of families in to the future to have a dedicated mental health pathway for nicu families.

HUGE HUGE appreciation for Kylie Pentelow and BBC Woman's Hour for listening to our calls to have this conversation.

I think we made a significant step towards change today. Time will tell.

Change happens a tiny moment at a time. Will this conversation be heard by those who make the decisions? Let’s see.

Bestsellers so far! So many families shopping the black men’s tee, women’s black tee and kids white tee. All with the bright and joyful message that 1 in 7 babies spend time in NICU.

Tom octopus (our mascot) has been reworked into a nicu babe complete with a photo therapy eye mask. Around him are 6 other like sea creatures. He is the one in seven.

I designed this print because I couldn’t get the figure out of my head. One in seven. That’s not rare. It’s something everyone should know.

festival in my One in Seven tee ! Millie’s sparkly stall caught my eye and I got chatting with her and her lovely mum (who she employs!!)

Millie started her business at 11 at school selling crystals to her pals and now she is here! Her stall was heaving!

I’ve left my nicu babe at home as he doesn’t love festivals as much as I do and I honestly couldn’t have imagined that life would be like this when he was in the nicu. (That we could be apart and I would be fine and he could be fine)

I guess what I’m saying is, keep going. Keep going and things will change.

sending so much love to you if you are reading this from the nicu. It’s unbelievably hard. Keep taking it one day or moment at a time 🫶🏻

One day life will be different.
