My name is nearly always pronounced wrong in Australia, however it is pronounced correctly in America. It’s ‘Lori’ rhymes with ‘story’, not Laurie/Lorry. People I’ve known for years still call me Laurie/Lorry. It drove me so crazy I’ve written several baby name books. It hasn’t helped any lol. I believe mispronouncing names is in every culture and is not racist at all. It comes down to the person’s language, experience and the basis that phonetic spelling of a name is the best way to mostly ensure a correct pronunciation. Therefore I’m changing my spelling to Lor-E. Only joking...
