We had the incredible honor of attending the Siege of San Antonio, an inspiring event hosted our veteran friend Justin “JT” Torres , founder of Project Heroes First, a nonprofit founded and led by veterans and first responders who are committed to serving those who have served. PROJECT HEROES FIRST

Watching veterans and first responders push themselves through demanding strength-based competitions was a powerful reminder that the warrior spirit doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. The determination, resilience, and camaraderie displayed throughout the event embodied what it truly means to continue serving with purpose.

Line of Duty Custom Accessories was proud to stand alongside fellow veteran and first responder-owned businesses, like sgt_solo_projects Clayton McMurry Tlacuache Tactical Evolve Social Wellness Space e-motion wellness therapy center CAM.BRO APPAREL all united by a common mission—to support, empower, and give back to the heroes who sacrifice so much for our communities and our nation.

We’re grateful to Project Heroes First for bringing together organizations that share the same passion for service and for creating opportunities that strengthen the veteran community. Events like these remind us that when we come together, we can make a lasting impact.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this incredible event. We look forward to continuing our mission of serving those who have served.

Throughout the month of May, Line of Duty Custom Accessories focused on getting out into our community and advocating for those who have sacrificed so much for our country. In Military City USA, San Antonio, we proudly stood alongside veterans, fighting to ensure they receive fair treatment and have access to the benefits and resources needed to secure stable housing after their service.

Our mission has always been bigger than selling meaningful custom accessories. Every event we attend is another opportunity to give back, support nonprofits serving our nation’s heroes, and strengthen the communities we call home.

We’re incredibly grateful for every customer, partner, and supporter who continues to help us grow and live out our purpose. As we reach the halfway point of the year, we’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to creating an even greater impact together.

Meet Our Founder & President — TJ Williams 🇺🇸

Originally from Apache, Oklahoma, TJ Williams joined the United States Air Force at the end of 2010. He attended Basic Military Training in San Antonio, Texas, followed by the Security Forces Academy, where he began his career serving as a Security Forces member. His first duty station was Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana.

As a member of the 741st Missile Security Forces Squadron, TJ performed security operations throughout the missile fields of Montana while fully armed and equipped in full battle gear. During a mission providing topside security for maintenance crews working on nuclear missile sites, TJ was involved in an up-armored HMMWV rollover accident. He sustained severe injuries, including fractures to his cervical spine at the C4–C6 vertebrae, leaving him quadriplegic. TJ was only 23 years old when his life changed forever.

During his military service, TJ earned several honors and awards, including:

* Air Force Achievement Medal
* Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with One Oak Leaf Cluster
* Air Force Good Conduct Medal
* National Defense Service Medal
* Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
* Air Force Training Ribbon
* Marksman Ribbon (M4)
* Airman of the Quarter

Although his injury permanently changed his life, TJ remained determined to continue living life to the fullest. After completing inpatient rehabilitation, medically retiring from the military, and learning how to adapt to life with a spinal cord injury, he eventually returned to school to continue his education.

TJ earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry in 2018 and later pursued a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Organizational Management, graduating in 2023. At the time, he had no idea how much those experiences would prepare him for what would come next — founding the Veterans Adaptive Life Foundation.

Throughout this journey, his wife, Hope, has remained faithfully by his side. TJ and Hope have now been married for over 15 years, with more than 13 of those years navigating life after his injury together. Through every challenge, transition, and milestone, their love has continued to grow and blossom, serving as a testament to resilience, commitment, and faith.

Over the last 13 years, TJ has been blessed by the generosity of numerous nonprofits and organizations that poured into his life and his family. Through the support of others, he and Hope were able to pursue IVF treatments to grow their family, and he was also awarded a mortgage-free smart home specifically retrofitted for his disability needs. These are just a few examples of the incredible support he has received throughout his journey.

Today, TJ and Hope are the proud parents of two boys, ages 2 and 7, who look up to their father dearly. Becoming a husband and father while experiencing firsthand the impact that generosity and support can have on a family became a major driving force behind creating the Veterans Adaptive Life Foundation. After years of others graciously giving to him and his family, TJ felt called to create something of his own that could pour back into the lives of other disabled veterans and their families in the same meaningful way.

Today, TJ uses his experiences, faith, leadership, and passion for helping others to advocate for disabled veterans and create opportunities that empower them to adapt, overcome, and thrive.

Behind every statistic is a veteran fighting to survive after service. 🇺🇸
At Line of Duty, our founder continues to stand on the front lines advocating for veterans facing homelessness, housing discrimination, and the daily struggles tied to mental health and su***de within the veteran community.

The reality is heartbreaking — too many veterans using VASH vouchers are still being denied housing opportunities in San Antonio despite programs designed to help them rebuild. Policies requiring veterans to make 3x the rent create even more barriers for those already fighting to regain stability after service. Housing should be the foundation for recovery, not another obstacle.

Stable housing changes everything: mental health, employment opportunities, family stability, and the ability to rebuild a meaningful life. That’s why we continue pushing for accountability, rapid funding solutions, and protections that ensure veterans cannot be discriminated against for using the benefits they earned through service.

This fight is far from over — but we will continue standing beside those who served until real change happens 🫡
