PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT

Odette is a princess in a play, whose world is inside a lake. However, it doesn’t stop there. I have brought her somewhere else: where a trip through time began. Bringing her to the present age, everything felt strange, but curiosity brought her to explore and immerse herself in this new place. Just like us, when facing challenges, we don’t often give up so easily, but we try to resolve the problem and make achievements.

THE LUCKY CHARM
Behind every lucky charm is not just superstitions or fear, it is a page of history in itself, rooting back to the origin of cultures and beliefs. From the old days, our ancestors had already been using them to protect humans from the eyes of the demons below. Even until now, lucky charms still help us feel that our luck would smile back at us, hoping the things we wished would come true. Believe it or not, these items are like an invisible force, pushing us forward to reach out to our best. My collection was inspired by the darumas of Japan and the Swedish Dalahäst, and combining these things together helps the wearer to feel better about their own luck.

𝐒𝐄𝐈𝐙𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘
𝘛𝘌𝘙𝘔 3 - 𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘕𝘐𝘕𝘎𝘞𝘌𝘈𝘙

“Carpe diem” - seize the day, is one of the oldest philosophical mottos in Western history, which means that the future in unforeseeable and one should never leave anything to chance, and make the best of one’s life. This is also what I want to convey in my eveningwear collection. Most of us might think of this when we think of “Carpe diem”, in the sense of jumping on a chance when it appears, no fear and no matter what. Though, us humans would not accept failure and risks, which means that we will focus on what is unable to happen more than what can, so we miss out on the best moments of our lives. “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin!” Mother Theresa said these wise words, telling us there’s no better time to “seize the day” than now. When the sun shines before us, when the day begins, don’t ever hesitate, the chance is there, feel it and take in everything there is out there.

Going with the directions of the Baroque style, my collection demonstrates some of the significant architectural features of this style, including Solomonic column and some of the Baroque styled textures on ancient churches of Europe. To praise this even more, the silhouette of this garment is something different that I was challenged in the process of making it. The complexity and strangeness in this silhouette is something that I live for today.

This white shirt was inspired by the art of Buddhism. I was attracted by the Mandala when my family was visiting Dai Bao Thap Mandala Tay Thien in Tam Dao. It is the biggest temple with Mandala art in Vietnam. Mandala is a ritual symbol in Buddhism. It represents the universe with geometric patterns.

There are two kind of Mandala that why I have two styles for my white shirt photoshoot. Garbhadhatu mandala means static and heart. Vajradhatu mandala means movement and smart. Both of them combined becomes the universe.
I mostly focus on the small details on the shirt, mostly the Mandala part with meticilous stitches. “The Mandala” is the combination of all my passion and love that I have put in for this shirt, every part is detailed in the slightest bit, bringing simplicity in modernism. This shirt is made with everyone in mind.

Giao thừa là thời khắc chuyển giao giữa năm cũ và năm mới. Trong thời khắc giao thừa mọi người trong gia đình thường dành cho nhau những lời chúc tốt đẹp nhất. Và Koi cũng vậy. Năm mới chúc mọi người nghìn sự như ý, vạn sự như mơ, triệu sự bất ngờ, tỷ lần hạnh phúc.

Phiên chợ cuối năm, đông vui, tấp nập khác hẳn mọi ngày. Tiếng cười nói vui vẻ, có xen tiếng chửi mắng, tiếng bước chân, tiếng xe cộ,... Tất cả hoà vào làm một trong niềm vui đón chờ năm mới, một khởi đầu mới.
