HARITONS has a long and proud history, having been founded by the original owner, Mr B Hariton in Albert Road, Salt River in the early 1900’s. Then in 1957 a branch was opened in Wynberg, but soon thereafter the Salt River branch was destroyed by a devastating fire, never to reopen. The Wynberg branch was then sold to the manager at the time, Mr A G Hirschfeld who ran the store until 1983 when the
current owner bought the business. Today the store is located at 152 Main Road next to Pick ‘n Pay. The store will celebrate its 57th birthday in August 2015. Haritons is one of the last remaining clothing stores of its type in Cape Town, offering personal service and boasting a range of clothing to cater for all generations from infants to teenagers right through to grandparents. Besides being well-known for our hats & caps we also stock a large variety of trousers, jeans, formal & casual shirts, suits, jackets, shoes and knitwear as well as waistcoats and various accessories including ties, cuff links and braces. You name it and we are bound to stock it and if we don’t have it we’ll try our utmost to get it for you. Besides hats and caps being available online, we hope to showcase all our products on this website eventually. We also take pride in supporting local clothing manufacturers. In recent years, a small Suit Hire division was opened which caters for hire of suits, shirts and accessories for all formal occasions.
