Meet Blippie 🐾
Or better known as ‘Blippie from Philippi’. A mix of Africanus and all things good, rescued from Elsie’s River and now living in Woodstock with Dad.

We spent some time asking the important questions.

• Describe Blippi’s ideal Saturday night.
A walk in the park with squeaky ball fetch until someone tires (it’s never him), a spot of art gallery sniffing followed by snacks and cuddles with Dad.

• Describe his social life. Life of the park, or lone wolf?
Life of the park. Decisively. An emotional intellectual who managed to befriend a German Shepherd known for getting along with no one. With Dad he remains a devoted lap dog even while driving. We don’t recommend it. He does it anyway.

• What’s the story behind the name?
Shelter-given, and later discovered to match a children’s TV character. And just like the character, he’s taught his own share of wise lessons — regular adventures outside being a prominent one.

• Any irrational fears?
The vacuum cleaner. Otherwise entirely fearless. He once jumped over a backyard wall just to see what was on the other side.

• Mountain Loop or Beach Loop?
Mountain Loop. Beach loops are saved for adventures through the Garden Route.

Finding the right size Chommies collar is easy... if you can get your dog to sit still long enough.

We have designs and colours for every personality, from little dogs with big opinions to big dogs still convinced they’re lap dogs. Visit us in store and we’ll help you find the perfect fit.

Shopping from home? Wrap a piece of string around your dog’s neck, measure it against a ruler and choose the closest collar size using our size guide via the link in our bio.

Still not sure? Just ask. We promise we don’t bite.

July was for playing.
New friends were made, old ones were properly caught up with, and a ball or four was thrown more times than anyone was counting. There were products worth getting excited about — some new, some already favourites. And in between all of it, cozy spots were dug up to remind us to slow down.

Go outside.
Your dog is bored.
And honestly,
so are you.

At the centre of our world is 110 Hatfield Street.
Part store, part clubhouse, part ongoing conversation.

A place where strangers greet each other’s dogs before introducing themselves. Where muddy paws are normal. Where people stay longer than they planned to.

Bring your dog, try everything on, grab a coffee, snap a photo and let your dog enjoy their moment of local celebrity.

The store was never designed to feel transactional. It was designed to feel lived in.

See you soon 🧡

Some bowls live in the kitchen. This one doesn’t mind where it ends up.

From the breakfast rush to beach days, mountain missions and muddy weekends away, our enamel bowl is built to keep up with dogs who rarely sit still.

Made from durable enamel with a silicone non-slip base, it stays put when dinner gets exciting and is just as happy beside the campfire as it is on your kitchen floor.

Pet loved, human approved.

Thousands of scales, not pixels. Each one placed exactly where it needs to be, forming a pattern that belongs to this one alone. No two are ever the same.

We know the feeling.

Handmade means every detail is deliberate: the grain of the leather, the twist of the rope, the pairing that shouldn’t work but does. Texture that is felt just by glancing, and every palette starting somewhere wilder than a trend report: a wing, a rock face, a fresh bloom, the inside of a shell.

Nature is the original craftsperson. We’re just taking notes.

At its core, Chommies is about creating moments of connection, beauty, play, and radical pleasure inside ordinary life.

Because play matters. Not as escape, but as ritual.

Play is one of the purest forms of presence we have. It is spontaneous, curious, messy, physical, and alive. You cannot play in the future or the past. Play only exists in the now.

Dogs understand this instinctively.

They remind us that joy does not need permission. That delight can exist inside small moments.

That spirit runs through everything we make. There is always a warmth and looseness inside Chommies. A touch of whimsy. A willingness to embrace unpredictability, movement, humour, and the beautiful chaos of sharing your life with animals.

Travel leaves traces.

A bent boarding pass in the side pocket.
A luggage tag scratched somewhere between cities.
A passport softening at the edges from being carried everywhere.

The Mother City Travel Collection was made for that kind of movement.

Passport holders inspired by old airmail envelopes. Embroidered luggage tags that stand out instantly on the carousel. Keyrings clipped onto bags, leads, car keys. Small objects that travel properly and gather a life around them.

Made by hand in Cape Town, for people who understand that the best journeys usually begin with a dog waiting at the door while you pack.

Meet Skye 🐾
8-month-old Australian shepherd born in Hout Bay and now living in Vredehoek with Mom & Dad. She is currently in training as a medical response dog for her dad.

We spent some time asking the important questions.

• Describe Skye’s ideal Saturday night.
A sundowner walk on the beach, a swim out to the rocks, then snacks and sunsets with Mom and Dad.

• Describe her social life. Life of the park, or lone wolf?
Life of the park. Bossy about direction, generous with affection. She has a young male retriever on her radar that she eyes at the park.

• Favourite toy?
Anything squeaky. She’s destroyed every toy she’s ever owned, including the ‘unkillable’ ones.
We admire the commitment.

• What’s the one command she conveniently ignores?
“Come.” Mostly when the retriever is around. Priorities.

• Mountain Loop or Beach Loop?
Mountain Loop. A dog of taste.
