Late post but nevertheless...

A while ago i met Rushil Juglall, better known as Arsevan from The Kandasamys, & Ericco who has a YouTube Channel called Mzansi Adventures. I met them for lunch at Paradise Valley.

Witj Rushil being a vegetarian, I decided to do one vegetarian platter of mini pies and one platter with non vegetarian mini pies.

The non vegetarian pies included creamy peri peri giblets, braised tripe and some mutton and cabbage pies.

They both enjoyed the pies! Ericco actually enjoyed the vegetarian pies more than the meat!!! I was quite surprised by this!

We have launched our new range of pies! Its definitely unique because I would have never thought of using braised tripe curry as a pie filling until recently when Arisa Sohun Samjowan said she loved tripe but no one in her house eats it so she doesn't cook it. That was when I decided to take on the challenge and safe to say, it worked 😅
Everyone that has ordered the tripe pies has actually loved it and have come back for more. It would seem that the braised teipe pie has over taken the mutton curry in popularity recently!

This purchase literally happened over night. A week ago I would never have imagined that I would be posting this today! God has been so good to us and we are ever so grateful to have made one of our dream purchases 🙏 I have always wanted the 90cm free standing stove and i held back from purchasing a 60cm stove and the other beautiful hobs that i had seen. My heart is happy now 💓

🌟 A Morning of Culinary Creativity at Hirsch’s Hillcrest! 🌟

Hirsch’s Hillcrest recently hosted another fantastic Kitchen Capers event, where guests enjoyed an inspiring cooking demonstration led by Suvarna from Doughy Delights.

The session focused on creating delicious savoury snacks and party favourites, with attendees learning tips and techniques for mastering the perfect homemade pie and other crowd-pleasing treats. The event also featured the ELBA Uplift and Care Programme with Cotton Gold+, highlighting products designed to make everyday cooking easier and more enjoyable.

A big thank you to Suvarna, our partners at ELBA, and everyone who joined us for a morning filled with great food, learning, and community connection.

Standing alongside Deena Naidoo, I had the honour of personally handing over gourmet pies to someone whose culinary excellence I’ve admired for so long.

This wasn’t just about sharing food—it was about sharing passion, hard work, and a dream that continues to grow.
