Today we’re giving the iconic boat tote an ombré glow-up. 🌸🧡✨

A hand-dipped blend of orange + pink creates a juicy, sun-drenched gradient that feels like spring break energy in a bag. Perfect for beach days and poolside lounging.

Here’s how to dip dye your own:

👜Start with a 100% cotton canvas tote for the most vibrant color.
👜 Use Rit All-Purpose Dye — perfect for natural fibers like cotton and canvas.
👜 Heat matters! Keep the dyebath very hot so the dye absorbs evenly.
👜 Dip halfway into the dyebath and move up and down for a nice gradient
👜 Leave the dipped section in for 5–10 minutes, stirring gently for even color.
👜 When rinsing, hold the tote dipped-side down so dye doesn’t run onto the undyed area.
💡 Pro tip: Try layering two colors or dipping at different depths for a gradient look.

Today we’re testing if you can dye plushies with Rit DyeMore. 🐰 From bag charms to Jellycats, turn basic plushies into custom, one-of-a-kind cuties. Choose a bold solid shade or dip-dye two colors for the dreamiest ombré effect.

Here’s how to make them your own:

🐇Start with white or neutral plushie for the boldest colors.
🎨 Use Rit DyeMore (not All-Purpose!) — it’s made for synthetics.
🔥 Heat matters! Keep the dyebath at 90 degrees using the stovetop, or pour hot water into a heat-safe container.
🧼 Add a drop of dish detergent to help the dye spread evenly.
⏱ Dip for 5-10 minutes. Color takes quickly, so watch closely.
💧 Rinse in warm water, then cool.
🌬️ Hang dry or tumble dry on low with an old towel.
💡 Pro tip: Dip the edges for a soft ombré fade.

COLORSTAY DYE FIXATIVE. Don't sleep on it 🤠

What a difference! Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative helps your garment retain as much dye as possible– resulting in more vibrant, even colors and less bleeding and fading.

Here’s how to use it:

1️⃣Dye your project according to Rit All Purpose dye instructions as normal, but before you remove the project from the bath, prepare a container of hot water to be used for rinsing.

2️⃣Add ½ bottle of ColorStay Dye Fixative for every pound of fabric to the rinsing container and stir.

3️⃣Remove your project from the dye bath and place immediately into the rinsing container.

4️⃣Stir your project in the rinsing container for 20 minutes.

5️⃣Perform a final rinse in the sink and/or washing machine.

✨Bonus Tip:✨

ColorStay Dye Fixative can be used to prevent color bleeding and fading for commercially dyed clothes like those in your closet too! If you have an item that is bleeding in the wash, try soaking it in some ColorStay Dye Fixative and water to lock in the dye.
