💔 OFFICIAL DIVORCE ANNOUNCEMENT 💔

It is with absolutely no sadness whatsoever that Bridal Alchemy announces the end of its long-term relationship with Ecwid by Lightspeed

We tried.

For years, we remained loyal. We communicated. We compromised. We paid the bills. We clicked “Accept” on things we didn’t understand. We even pretended not to notice when the relationship became increasingly controlling.

But, sadly, some differences are simply irreconcilable.

Ecwid wanted control.

We wanted freedom.

Ecwid seemed to think our customers were our shared customers. Unless we pay to see our own sales records...

We were under the quaint impression that the people who came to Bridal Alchemy, bought Bridal Alchemy products, and trusted Bridal Alchemy were… well… Bridal Alchemy customers!

Apparently, relationships are complicated.

So yes, we are filing for digital divorce.

We’re taking the kids, by which we mean all our products, and setting up a beautiful new home on our very own cloud-based servers...

There will be no joint custody.

There will be no awkward alternate-weekend arrangements.

And there will certainly be no forwarding address.

Please don’t follow us, Ecwid. This separation is final. We need space. Specifically, our own server space.

We’ll handle the handover properly, because unlike some divorces, we would prefer our customers not to wake up one morning wondering why all the furniture has disappeared.

As for the settlement:

You may keep the yacht.

You may keep the villa.

You may even keep the suspiciously expensive subscription invoices...

They were never really our style anyway.

We wish you all the best in your future relationships with other unsuspecting online retailers.

Bridal Alchemy, meanwhile, is entering its independent era: taking back the keys, changing the locks, reclaiming the customer list, and building an online shop that actually belongs to us.

No hard feelings.

Well… perhaps a few.

But they’ll look fabulous in the divorce photos. 👰‍♀️🔥

​To our wonderful community and brides-to-be,

​At Bridal Alchemy, we pour our hearts into creating a magical, exclusive experience for you. When you book a consultation with us, the entire studio is yours. We close our doors to the public, prepare the space specifically for you, and dedicate our time solely to you and your invited loved ones.

Each 90 minute bridal consult is managed personally by our company co-founder who, has a celebrated near 20 year track record in bridal fashion design. Her expertise and depth of knowledge comes with a guaranty of passion and honest sincerity at each and every step of your journey at Bridal Alchemy.

​However, we need to address a growing challenge. Lately, we have experienced a high number of formal appointment no-shows , often without so much as a text message to cancel.

​To be completely transparent, this is incredibly disheartening for our team. Because we only ever host one bride at a time, an abandoned slot represents a loss of potential income and a missed opportunity for another bride who genuinely could have used that time...

When someone simply doesn't show up, it truly feels like a theft of our time, energy, and resources.

​Because of this, our booking policy is changing.
​📅 Effective July 1st, 2026
​We will only confirm and honor studio appointments upon receipt of a prepaid fitting fee. To that end, our fitting fee structure can be queried by simply going to our website and clicking the "ask us anything" button at www.bridalalchemy.co.za

We used to always charge the fitting fee after the conclusion of each consult. We will now simply be charging that fee ahead of time.

​To make this transition as seamless as possible, we will be integrating a quick and secure payment mechanism directly into our e-store. Your appointment will be officially secured the moment the booking fee is processed.

​We know our true Bridal Alchemy community understands the heart, soul, and overhead costs that go into running a boutique studio such as ours. This step ensures that we protect our business while continuing to deliver the highest quality, uninterrupted service you deserve.

Please note that Lizette's 0792549895 number is having some intermittent connectivity issues due to her new - (supposedly top of the line) Samsung phone not being able to read a Vodacom SIM card. She is however available on that number via WhatsApp calls whenever she is in reach of wi-fi. We will of course try to resolve this ASAP.

For Kiana’s Matric Farewell look, Lizette from Bridal Alchemy designed a custom couture gown that was impossible to ignore.
