Today we have a really unusual piece – unusual because we’re selling it unrestored, but also unusual because it’s so complete! I think this is the first time in all our years of t…

These aren’t the best photos of this rather lovely wooden armchair – Thandie is doing her best (which is pretty darn good!), but her cell phone camera isn’t quite as clear as the …

This is probably the nicest of the sideboards that we have in stock, with those chunky wooden handles and protruding peg legs. The front of the sideboard also has a slight curve to it, which isn& #8…

Well not really, in fact not at all – we’re still in the land of fish ‘n chips – but we are back with a few items for sale. We still have a few larger pieces of furniture in…

It’s time to say goodbye to our rather lovely home in Jozi. When we first bought it, it was a mess of styles, with crazy paving (indoors!), mixed with ’90’s beige tiles, and origi…

So, we have some big (and actually a wee bit sad) news to share – Justin and I have decided to move to the UK. We’ve been considering it for some time now, but Covid obviously speeded t…

In normal life most of us are just trying to keep our heads above water – I’m not sure how we’ve managed to do it, but adult life in the year 2020 seems to involve a 25 hour work day – I think I might be quoting an old Bar One TV ad there! But in all seriousness, we really do work too hard, and finding the time to do things outside of our normal working day can be quite difficult.

All of which is a very roundabout way of excusing the fact that I haven’t properly thanked Derick Kirk and the Garden and Home team for featuring Mint in their July 2019 issue (yes, my thanks is that belated!). Claire Matern, one of our long-time Minters, chatted to Derick about her passion for vintage kitchenalia, with all of the images featured being from Mint. The article looked great, and did an amazing job of showing off how beautiful (and functional) retro kitchenware can be. So a big thank you to Claire for taking part, and of course our appreciation goes out to the decor mag for the free publicity!

And while we’re at it, did anyone see that Mint was included in Visi’s list of online vintage shops that they featured the other day? So thank you to Visi too!

P.S. Don’t forget that our “TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE” sale is still running! Get your vintage treasures cheap cheap!

So with us being somewhat stranded at the moment and unable to take pics of our treasures, it seems like a very good time to have our BIGGEST SALE EVER! From today we’re knocking a massive FO…

It’s a good day for pots! This lovely pastel yellow cast-iron pot is quite a bit neater than the cookware that we put up for sale a bit earlier, although it does still have some signs of age.…

We’re proud to show off another very cool vintage Diamond alarm clock, this time complete with a built-in thermometer! And happily both the temperature gauge and the clock are in good working…
