As we celebrate Africa Day,
MAXHOSA AFRICA reflects on ALKEBULAN, a collection that imagined the spirit of ancient Alkebulans navigating the contemporary world while remaining deeply connected to African identity, culture, and pride.
ALKEBULAN explored how Africans from different regions of the continent would dress today, embracing global fashion, luxury, travel, and cultural exchange, while still carrying the essence of home wherever they go.
As a traveling showcase, ALKEBULAN journeyed across different cultural landscapes, from Nigeria, Ethiopia, and South Africa to London, all carrying with it a vision of African identity without borders.
Each destination became an extension of the collection’s message: that African fashion, culture, and storytelling belong on the global stage while remaining deeply connected to the continent itself.
As we look back this Africa Day, ALKEBULAN remains a reminder that African culture has never been confined by borders. It is dynamic, evolving, sophisticated, and globally influential a living expression of heritage reimagined for the modern world.
