Namibia is definitely on our list of rides to do... maybe next year..

At least our crashbars are seeing the country🤣

Namibia is basically a cheat code for adventure enduro dualsport riding travel in Africa. Nearly 40,000 km of gravel roads and dirt roads, around 300 sunny days a year, and more than 600 camping spots scattered across deserts, mountains, riverbeds, and places where your phone signal and your stress both disappear.

You ride all day on fast gravel, proper off-road adventure terrain, and empty back roads. Then you camp under ridiculous big skies, bbq some local sausages, sleep like a rock, ready to explore Namibia all over again.

This is overlanding, ADV riding, Advenduro and remote travel done properly. No crowds. No damn queues.
No crawling stupid traffic.
Just wide open mindblowing landscapes, wild campsites, and endless African adventure roads.

If motorcycle adventure travel had a headquarters, it would probably be somewhere out here.

Throwback to when we visited the Royal Enfield Show. And what a stunning showroom it is!

At Rockfox Adventure Systems, we’re best known for manufacturing crashbars and luggage solutions for brands like BMW, Honda, Yamaha, CF Moto and more.

But what many riders don’t realise is that we can also assist with custom designs and once-off projects.

Here we were requested to design and manufacture custom parts for Royal Enfield.

Whether it’s crashbars, pannier racks, bashplates, or a specific idea that needs a proper adventure-ready solution — we’re always keen to see what can be designed, built and tested for real-world riding⛰️

We also had some some very friendly inspectors making sure everything was up to standard.

Some places don’t ask anything of you… except to feel them.

The Tankwa is one of them.

This moment, captured a few years back of the legend that is Mike Adendorff from Rockfox, says it all. Late afternoon, still 120km from camp, daylight slipping away. It’s been a long day. We’re tired, hungry, already thinking about that first cold beer around the fire… and then, a small issue with one of the bikes.

But there’s no rush. No panic.

Just silence. Space. Perspective.

You stand there, surrounded by nothing and everything at the same time, and it hits you — a deep sense of calm, of belonging. Like this is exactly where you’re meant to be.

That’s what these machines give us. They don’t just take us places… they connect us to them.
