On 18 July 2026, EyeCare4Kids Africa will celebrate the opening of its first permanent Eye and Vision Centre in South Africa at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, the University of Johannesburg, the University of the Western Cape, the South African Optometric Association, the EyeCare4Kids Global team from the United States, our sponsors, donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and every individual who has contributed to making this centre a reality.
Together, we are creating a world-class centre where children from underserved communities can access professional vision screening, comprehensive eye examinations, and free prescription glasses.
What began with mobile screening programmes across South Africa is now growing into a permanent home for children's eye care.
