I’ve always loved fabrics that have a slightly travelled, bohemian feel to them, and this chiffon immediately took me there.

Rich earthy browns, little flashes of cream and gold, and SO much movement. I paired it with brown stretch suede shorts which have a very sexy cut,, a knitted top and aged brass coins — just enough detail to bring the whole story together.

The version with all the coin work is a one-off. I only made one, which somehow makes it even more special.

I think my favourite part though is that long floating layer…
standing still it’s beautiful, but once it moves, it becomes something else entirely.

A sari with another story to tell… 🌹

I found this beautiful old sari in a thrift shop and knew I wanted to give it another life.

Creating with found fabrics is nothing new for me — I’ve been doing it for years and years — but I’m loving coming back to making more one-off pieces again. They take considerably more time, but there’s something so satisfying about knowing there will never be another one exactly the same.

Vintage and preloved fabrics arrive with their own history. There may be tiny holes, faded areas or imperfections, so we carefully work around them — and sometimes we simply incorporate them and let them remain part of the story.

Even the gorgeous mismatched buttons on this piece were thrifted.

So almost everything you see here has been found, saved and reimagined rather than newly mass-produced.

A little kinder to the planet.
A lot more interesting to make.
And only ONE in the world. 🌹

There’s something so special about seeing a fabric transform into a dress that hits the 'red carpet'

Made for beautiful Lily in this incredible turquoise — a soft, fluid silhouette with layers that move as she moves. Feminine, a little playful and definitely made for dancing.

And I love these getting-ready photographs almost as much as the finished look… the anticipation, the chaos, the shoes going on and that “let’s go!” moment before the night begins.

This will be the only one in this fabric...
This Sari was bought in Help the Rural child and has been given a new exciting life.
The entire Sari was used to create this Boho overlay.
I am so happy with the outcome !!!!
It can be worn more sophisticated over one of my long V neck dresses or more playful as shown...
The possibilities are endless.
It will be featured tomorrow Hermanus Country Market .

A piece from my archives.
Raw Silk that changes colour as you move so I teamed it with beautiful iridescent butterfly wings that came from a vintage plate that echoed the playfulness of colour changing in the light.
Every piece has a story....
I collected these curved plates that were from a special island..
When my son was small he broke the glass of this art piece with a bb gun.
I could not fix it as it was curved glass from days gone past.
I could not throw it away..
I kept the butterfly wings and then it came to me when I had this beautiful raw silk in my hands.
I create art in 3D
On bodies.
I dont just make clothes.
I create art.
That's what I do.🌹

✨ NEW BOOT ALCHEMY ✨

Started with a simple pair of boots… then Mystic Rose got involved.

Hand-cut suede fringing, layers of swinging gold chain detail, vintage-inspired embellishment and that piercing blue eye watching over the whole story.

A little bit rock ’n roll.
A little bit desert goddess.
A little bit “where did you GET those?!”

This is the direction I’m loving right now — taking ordinary pieces and upchanging them into wearable art. No mass production. Just experimentation, instinct, and magic. ✨
