A partnership that brings expertise, technology and shared ambition together.
We recently had the privilege of welcoming Umesh from the Trützschler Group to Prilla.
Prilla’s two new Trützschler TC19i cards were central to the visit, with discussions covering their technical and quality performance, as well as the preventative and card clothing maintenance standards applied across our operations.
Further conversations explored technical challenges, recent developments and potential upgrades that could strengthen carding performance in the future.
The engagement concluded successfully, with the standards observed meeting expectations and the TC19i cards delivering exactly the performance promised.
Our valued partnership with them began decades ago, and we are proud to be associated with a global leader whose machinery plays an integral role across our mill floor, helping transform raw fibre into consistent, high-quality yarn.
As the industry evolves, partnerships like this remain essential to long-term progress.

Every finished textile begins with the strength of what comes before it.
In a global industry producing around 100 billion garments each year, quality is shaped long before the final product takes form.
Through controlled spinning, carefully selected fibre is transformed into yarn engineered for consistency, strength, and reliable performance.
A 200 kg bale of cotton may have the potential to become hundreds of garments, but true textile value is measured by more than output.
It comes from the care, control and technical precision applied throughout the production process.
Each decision, from fibre selection to yarn development, influences the way a fabric feels, performs and lasts. A strong, consistent foundation gives manufacturers the confidence to produce textiles that deliver durability, reliability and long-term value.
In textile manufacturing, quality is not added at the end.
It is built into every strand from the very beginning.

Some long-held industry beliefs may no longer reflect today's realities.
As the industry continues to evolve, advances in technology and digitalisation, alongside shifting market dynamics and business priorities, are reshaping how organisations approach sourcing, manufacturing, sustainability, and innovation.
Keeping pace with these realities can help businesses adapt, innovate, and remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic market.

Every thread tells a story of quality and precision.
From cotton fibre selection to yarn consistency and weave construction, creating premium fabric is about far more than thread count alone.
Thread count, referring to the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric, remains one of the industry’s most recognised indicators of fabric density and feel.
Yet fabric quality is shaped by far more than numbers alone...
The strength of the cotton fibre.
The consistency of the yarn.
The precision of the weave.
The finishing process.
Every stage influences the softness, durability, breathability and performance of the final fabric.
Sheraton Textiles, one of South Africa’s leading household textile manufacturers, continues to highlight the importance of weave structure and thoughtful construction in premium textile production.

From fibre to finished fabric, many processes contribute to the final result, and we’re proud that Prilla’s manufacturing forms part of that journey.

Before there is fabric, there is fibre.
Before fibre, there is choice.
With Earth Day 2026 placing global focus on responsible processes, those choices carry more weight than ever.
In a global textile industry shaped by sustainability targets, supply volatility and increasing scrutiny, fibre selection has become a strategic decision, not just a material one.
Cotton remains one of the few fibres that combine performance, renewability and circularity.
Its natural composition delivers durability, breathability and biodegradability, while its role in global supply chains continues to support industrial output and economic development.
As demand shifts toward accountable sourcing and resilient manufacturing, fibre selection becomes the foundation of long-term value.
For manufacturers, retailers and supply chain partners, choosing cotton is not only a material decision, but a commitment to quality, traceability and a more sustainable textile future.
A stronger textile future begins with choices that respect both industry and planet.

Behind every strand…
Quality yarn is a partnership between skilled people and world-class machinery.
Across the mill floor, smart technology and conventional machinery work alongside skilled teams to transform cotton into reliable yarn for textile manufacturers across Africa and around the world.
Through long-standing partnerships with global machinery manufacturers and ongoing investment in technology, we have strengthened efficiency, quality and consistency in yarn production.
From fibre preparation to spinning, each machine plays a role in maintaining the standards that customers rely on. While people guide the process with experience and precision.
For more than 60 years, Prilla has been part of Africa’s cotton value chain, supporting the long-term development of the textile industry.
