It’s funny how life sometimes brings you right back to where your story started.
Back in 2013, when KMB was just beginning, Kelly hosted her very first Matric Dance Workshop. At the time, she simply wanted to share her passion for styling and help young women feel confident on one of the biggest days of their school careers. She had no idea that one workshop would become the beginning of a business that has gone on to dress thousands of incredible brides and matric girls over the years.
Looking back, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude. Every fitting, every consultation, every happy tear, every dream dress, and every family who has entrusted us with such meaningful moments has played a part in our journey. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.
What has never changed, though, is Kelly’s passion for education.
A beautiful dress is only part of the story. Knowing which silhouettes flatter your body shape, which colours enhance your skin tone and hair colour, which fabrics move and fit beautifully, and how to complete your look with the right jewellery, shoes, hair and makeup is what creates confidence. When you understand these elements, the entire experience becomes enjoyable, empowering and far less overwhelming.
That passion for teaching is what inspired the very first workshop—and it’s exactly why we’re bringing it back.
Thirteen years later, we’re returning to where it all began.
