You have 4,000 chances to shape your child’s development! 😲

Between 6 months and 4 years, children are building some of the most important foundations of early development. Grip strength, hand coordination and independence.

But most cutlery for children isn’t designed for this stage. It’s just adult tools made smaller, which often means it works against how little hands naturally develop. 👎

doddl is different.

Created by experts and engineered around real developmental stages. From the palmar grasp of early weaning, through the emerging pincer grip, to confident precision control.

Because mealtimes were never just about eating.

Did you know that between 9-10 months, your baby is developing a grip that they will use their whole life?

This is a huge developmental milestone, it's where they use their thumb and index finger together to grasp objects, helping build the foundations for skills they'll use throughout their childhood, from writing and drawing pictures for you, to fastening buttons and getting dressed and more as they grow.

That's why we designed doddl baby cutlery for exactly those developing little hands from 6 months+. We want to support your baby through the early stages learning to feed themselves, as they begin developing their coordination, control and confidence at the table. Early success matters, so the easier the better 🤩

The handles have a compact shape designed specifically for little hands that are developing, helping encourage natural grip progression while making learning to eat easier when everything is so
new.

Because for your baby every scoop, grasp and successful mouthful helps strengthen their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Supporting development long before they will pick up a pencil and draw you their newest masterpiece

Mealtimes are about so much more than food.

Did you know messy mealtimes are actually helping your toddler learn? 💪🤩

Every scoop, spill, stab and missed mouthful helps build hand-eye coordination, an essential skill for feeding, dressing, playing and growing independently.

From stacking blocks to using cutlery, toddlers develop coordination through everyday practice (and yes... a little chaos along the way)

doddl's thoughtfully designed feeding tools can help make the learning process easier for your little ones, giving little hands more control and confidence at mealtimes.

Because every tiny "I did it!" moment matters 🌟

What feeding tools actually help toddlers learn to self-feed? 🍽️

The right tools can make a huge difference in helping little ones feel confident at mealtimes and reducing frustration for everyone involved.

That’s why the doddl is designed specifically to support self-feeding development 👇

🥄 Toddler spoon + fork
Short, ergonomic handles are perfectly shaped for little hands, helping toddlers learn proper finger positioning, grip control, scooping and stabbing skills more easily. It also supports fine motor development and hand-eye coordination while building confidence with every bite.

🔪 Toddler knife
Engineered for children 18+ months, the doddl knife helps toddlers safely learn early cutting and chopping skills. Its ergonomic handle and safe cutting action encourage independence at the table, without compromising on safety.

🥣 2-in-1 suction bowl
The strong suction base helps prevent tipping and spills, reducing mealtime frustration while toddlers practise self-feeding. The raised back and lower front are specially designed to support successful scooping, helping little ones access food more easily and independently.

🍽️ Non-slip Plate
Helping toddlers transition towards grown-up tableware and more independent eating habits.

Self-feeding isn’t just about eating, it’s about building coordination, confidence and lifelong skills.

How do I get my child to eat independently?

Independent eating isn't something you teach overnight, it's a skill built through practice, patience, and the right environment.

Here's how to support your child step by step:

1. Start early with hands
Alongside baby cutlery, let your baby explore food with their fingers. This builds coordination and confidence.

2. Offer the right size foods
Soft, easy-to-grasp shapes (like soft sticks or wedges) will help your baby progress.

3. Expect and allow the mess. Messy eating supports sensory development and will help your baby understand textures.

4. Model the action.
Eat alongside your baby - watching you is one of their biggest learning tools.

5. Pause before helping.
Give your baby a few seconds to figure it out. Problem-solving builds independence.

6. Keep portions small.
Too much food can overwhelm, small amounts encourage focus and success.

7. Use baby-friendly tools.
Cutlery that's easy to grip and control will allow your baby to practise movements properly.

When babies can control their tools, they're able to focus on learning these new skills, rather than struggling with them.

The goal isn't perfection... it's progress, confidence, and making mealtimes a positive experience.

Your toddler isn't bad at eating.

They're just using tools that don't actually help them learn.
Most toddler cutlery is too big, too long, and too hard to control, so mealtimes become frustrating for everyone.
doddl is designed differently:
✔️Sized for small hands
✔️Supports a natural grip
✔️Helps them eat independently, faster
Because when the tools work... everything changes.
Make their mealtimes a doddl.

Transitioning from a suction bowl to a non-suction bowl can be trickier than you might first think (or not if your kitchen is covered in food this evening….🤪). Mood, tiredness, hunger, development phase, teething - they can all play a part in how successful you might be, but despite this, you know deep down your baby can’t use a suction bowl forever. So doddl designed the doddl bowl to help smooth this transition for you and your baby. Super strong suction bowl one moment and the next, remove the suction and voila! you have an expertly designed non-slip bowl. And if the mood doesn’t fit to try it today - simply pop the suction straight back on and go again another day. From weaning to 5+ years - one bowl, 3 stages - designed for learning, less mess and more success 🤩

5 simple steps. That’s all it takes. But the type of spoon (and fork) you choose for your baby is critical. We spent 7 years perfecting the doddl baby cutlery set (6-12months) alongside development experts - the result? Success and confidence from the very start.

Ergonomics matter. Why? Because if a product is designed FOR you, it works. 👇 Check out the doddl knife - designed for your toddler to succeed 🙌 You may not know, but your child has wrist muscles that are far from developed - so the long handle you’re asking them to grip and saw through food with, doesn’t work for them ✋and it’s likely blunt too - which is understandable (but frustrating for them). Until now. Now you can empower your toddler and give them a knife designed for them - with a protected blade design that actually chops (safely) and uses the strength in their palm to push down through food. Now you have doddl ⭐️
