“Deceptively simple, Ryokan's poems transcend artifice, presenting spontaneous expressions of pure Zen spirit. Like his contemporary Thoreau, Ryokan celebrates nature and the natural life, but his poems touch the whole range of human experience: joy and sadness, pleasure and pain, enlightenment and illusion, love and loneliness. This collection of translations reflects the full spectrum of Ryokan's spiritual and poetic vision, including Japanese haiku, longer folk songs, and Chinese-style verse. Fifteen ink paintings by Koshi no Sengai (1895–1958) complement these translations and beautifully depict the spirit of this famous poet.”

I just finished making this beautiful pair of Hamsa Dreamcatcher earrings🌞

Hamsas are spiritually associated with protection, and are found in many different religions and spiritualities. As you can see, I incorporated the Sun and ferns so as to symbolise elements of nature.

Ultimately, everything only has significance if you attach some sort of meaning to it. I don’t want to dictate to the wearer what this piece should mean to them. But I do want you to know that I made it with the intention of reminding you that you are divinely protected, and that nature will be a constant presence surrounding you forever. I hope you take comfort in that ❤️

Our Motherland Africa, is a land filled with deep, rich and diverse cultures. She is saturated in a powerful divine energy, and is fiercely protected by the native ancestors of those who’ve respectfully tended to her land throughout the centuries.
In numerology, the number 3 is of high significance. Often believed to hold powerful symbolism in cycles such as, birth-life-death and mind-body-soul. It’s power is evident in that it carries harmony, wisdom and understanding.
We chose to create this combination in an effort to help the wearer channel the power and wisdom of this divine land and the energy of 3 in their daily lives while also wearing this as a symbol of respect for the land we reside on.
