Another exciting day at Heartbeat Sewing! 🧵✂️
Today was Class 3, where our students learned how to insert a zip, cut the fabric for their skirts, and create a sample to practise their sewing techniques. Every class builds confidence and practical skills, one step at a time!

The first time she pressed the pedal, the sewing machine startled her.
Whirr.
She pulled back, heart racing. The sound felt too loud, too alive, like it knew she didn’t.
She tried again, softer this time.
Whirr… whirr…
The needle began to move, steady and sure, even when her hands weren’t. She watched the thread follow, stitching a quiet line through the fabric.
Slowly, her breathing matched the rhythm.
The sound changed. It wasn’t scary anymore, it was calm, like rain, like a heartbeat.
She pressed a little more.
The machine hummed, and this time, she didn’t stop it.
When she finally lifted her foot, the room fell quiet. She looked down at her slightly crooked seam and smiled.
For the first time, the sound felt like it belonged to her.
