The last few months have been tough to say the least, but as I approach my 32nd birthday, I’m reminded by this beautiful quote that I need to “be my own hero”.

Finding an inner peace in this chaos of motherhood is something that I am striving towards every day. I cannot depend on anyone else to bring me that peace - it is up to me to find the balance between giving and taking what I need…

Even more so, I am determined to find and manifest my feelings about self-worth so that those around me will be inspired to do the same 🌻.

The last week has been rough… Olly has been fighting both teething and a fever, but it seems the end of it is finally in sight…

We’ve only reached the end of month 2 for 2023 and it feels like I’ve been through an absolute whirlwind.

Work, Health, Friendships, they’ve all been tested over the last few weeks; some have survived, some haven’t.

But one thing I’m determined to do this year is to take better care of myself, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

It seems like such a simple task, to take care of oneself. But the truth is, it isn’t. When you’re a mom to a little one or more, They are your No 1 priority. Then comes your partner, followed by your extended family, friends, and maybe even colleagues.

And then maybe, just maybe, you’ll list yourself as a priority.

This year, I challenge you to take care of You.

Slowly chip away at all the noise that is stopping you from investing in your happiness and health.

Write, breathe, run, feel

Do all the things that make you happy, even if they’re one at a time.

Have that cup of tea, pause for that moment in the sun.

You are Worth It.

Sometimes, being a mom is Hard, like REAL Hard.

It’s the hard times that we don’t verbalise to others because we’re ashamed.

Ashamed of the darkness clouding our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Sometimes, at 3am, the darkness takes over. It takes over our being to the point that we’re frustrated with not understanding this precious being that we’ve been tasked to care for and love.

We’re frustrated at our seeming inadequacy for taking care of and understanding your needs and wants.

We’re frustrated because we’re tired, hungry, exhausted.

And yes, exhausted is truly another level of just being “tired”.

We’re frustrated because we can’t vent to our partner, because our partner is going through the SAME THING.

Sometimes, being a mom is HARD, but then I look at you.

You have been the most amazing Gift, my love.

Your angelic face reminds me that you need me, and I need you. We are bonded, for life.

Things won’t always be perfect between us, we will be challenged every day. But we love each other without boundaries.

I’ll always try to be the best version of myself for you.

I love you.

This Valentine’s Day, I’m taking an intentional step to Slow Down, Re-Align, and Re-Focus my love and energy.

The last few days have brought me moments of great clarity that Self-Love is so important in this crazy journey we call Life.

Sometimes it’s Beautiful, sometimes it’s Harsh, but holding onto that Self-Worth and Self-Love is so important for helping us through those challenging moments.
