Our Story

Footwear and Accessories (Brand)

BACKGROUND

Bourbon is a high quality leather footwear brand established by Glyn & Karen Giani the founders of the Footwear Design and Technology School of SA (FDTSSA) who are passionate about quality footwear and our beautiful country.

Frustrated by the lack of quality and creative footwear in South Africa we used our 35 years of experience in footwear design, manufacture and education to establish a high quality, hand made, footwear brand using South African components and labour only.

OUR PRODUCTS

All leather used in our products is from a local source considered to be the best in the world and processed by our valued lacal tannery. Soles are also locally produced from materials also considered top quality.

Each shoe is hand cut, hand punched and hand laced, hand lasted and hand finished which is a process you only find done in the best bespoke shoe workshops.

We do not and will not compromise on our quality in any way

OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY in valley of 1000 Hills, Bothas Hill,KZN

With as many as 100 times more people unemployed than there are hills in this valley, our responsibility rests hard on our shoulders.

In order to create maximum social impact on our direct environment and people, our footwear is produced by hand to order in order to create the most possible jobs and utelising the least amount of electricity in creating your unique pair of shoes.
