Barreto bridalwear designer Francisco Costa Ayres Barreto : Haute Couture and Bridewear Designer Francisco Loes creating bridal and haute couture designs.

Francisco studied at LISOF (the London international School of Fahion) in Rosebank and won his first award in 2006, when he entered the Bridal Africa Young Designers Award (Avant Garde category). In 2009 he was recognised for his talents in SABIA's Vow Awards, in the Gauteng Couture Wedding Dresses category. "I love designing a dress that is not only attractive, but also feels natural, sexy, and f

eminine. I want my dresses to awaken all the emotions of the bride, giving her a sense of self confidence and happiness,"he says. When meeting with Francisco, he starts with several proposals ranging from very 'Avant Garde' to a more traditional design, taking into consideration what best fits the personality and look of the bride. Some brides may not know that Francisco is Deaf but, as he says, he can do anything expect hear! After the initial contact Francisco and the bride always find a way to communicate effectively and understand each other perfectly. "We are all individuals with different ideas and tastes, But in the end as the designer I have to marry my ideas with those of the bride, and produce a perfect garment that matches her beauty and personality. This can only be achieve if you work closely and on a very personal level with the bride,"says the designer.
