LOOK 14 - IN FULL BLOOM

Look 14 closes the collection off with an eruption of sculptural crimson flowers - a symbol of everything that has grown from being rooted, protected and nurtured. The deep green foundation speaks to the earth, while the flowers become a visual expression of transformation, desire and unapologetic femininity.

The cascading black fringing of the hat emulates rain falling over the flowers - a symbol of nourishment, patience and the unseen forces required for growth. Just as rain allows a flower to bloom, the elements that challenge and nurture us ultimately shape who we become.

Vines spiral around the leg, grounding the body to the earth and reinforcing the idea of growth from the roots up. They speak to connection, resilience and the experiences that shape us - a reminder that no matter how far we grow, we remain connected to where we began.

Veiled yet revealed, protected yet flourishing, this final look embodies the essence of GROUNDED: true growth comes from remaining connected to your roots.

A collection that began with protection ends in full bloom. 🌺

Look 12: Bloomline
***Available for pre-order at hossbysass.co.za***

Growth doesn’t always happen where people can see it. Sometimes, it begins quietly, close to the ground.

Bloomline captures that moment when resilience starts to reveal itself. A sculpted silhouette gradually gives way to hundreds of hand-applied circular petals that bloom from the hem, creating movement with every step. It’s a reminder that transformation isn’t instant - it happens layer by layer, until one day, it can’t help but be seen.

With Grounded, every look tells the story of returning to your roots. Bloomline is the moment those roots begin to bloom.

LOOK 9: The Open Truth
Not every form of strength announces itself.

Sometimes it stands in silence, sculpted with intention. Covered from the front. Completely unguarded from behind.

The Open Truth explores the tension between protection and exposure - the choice to reveal, not because you have to, but because you’ve found the courage to. The open back is not vulnerability without purpose; it’s a declaration that there is power in being fully seen.

In a world that often mistakes armour for strength, this look asks a different question: What if the bravest thing you could do was simply tell the truth?

Grounded reminds us that true confidence isn’t built by hiding our scars, but by carrying them with grace.

The strongest thing you can wear is yourself.

LOOK 6: The Golden Egg

There is power in taking up space.

Look 6 explores expansion through an exaggerated egg-inspired silhouette: a sculptural form that represents potential, protection, and the quiet strength found in new beginnings.

The voluminous skirt is balanced by a structured bodice with a deep neckline, creating a dialogue between softness and strength, vulnerability and confidence.

Grounded reminds us that growth begins with a strong foundation.

LOOK 4: GROUNDED

Where structure meets surrender.

This look explores the tension between restraint and release. The sculpted black velvet silhouette creates strength and control, while the sweeping white pleated skirt interrupts that precision- flowing like light breaking through darkness.

Black velvet was chosen for its rich depth and ability to absorb light, creating a sense of weight, grounding, and quiet power. In contrast, the crisp white-taffeta pleats catch every movement, symbolising release, clarity, and freedom. Together, the fabrics become a conversation between heaviness and hope.

The exaggerated neck-ties frame every step, transforming movement into part of the garment itself. They extend the body’s silhouette, reinforcing the idea that our presence often reaches beyond what is immediately seen.

At the back, the V-shaped mesh cut-out introduces a moment of vulnerability. Positioned where the body naturally bends and moves, it reveals just enough to soften the strength of the silhouette, reminding us that being grounded is not about being impenetrable. True strength leaves room for openness, honesty, and growth.

Every contrast - black and white, fitted and fluid, concealment and exposure - exists to remind us that opposing forces can coexist beautifully.

Grounded is not about standing still. It is about remaining rooted in who you are, while allowing yourself the freedom to evolve.

LOOK 2 - The Quiet Force

Strength doesn’t always arrive with noise. Sometimes it moves with intention, ease, and unwavering presence.

Designed as a unisex expression of the Grounded collection, this look explores the balance between softness and structure. Fluid silhouettes create freedom of movement, while the rich earth-toned fabric reflects a connection to self, purpose, and place.

A reminder that being grounded is not about standing still - it’s about knowing who you are, wherever you go.
