Welcome to my new creative page!🤓💃
A new beginning!
Thank you for joining me on this journey—I’m excited to share my work with you!
My goal is not only to share my work with more people, but also to build something meaningful that can help me earn an income through my creativity. Some of these projects will help me promote and sell products, while others will simply show what I can do as a designer and creator.
I hope it will inspire others, connect me with people who appreciate creativity, and open new opportunities for growth.
Thank you for being here and supporting my journey. I’m excited to share my creative world with you.
Moving to Cape Town marked the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. I was mesmerized by the creativity all around me and immediately felt at home - what a wonderful feeling that was! I have a partner who loved seeing me get excited about all the ideas and dreams I wanted to pursue, and together with my three children, that support is what kept my creative journey alive and growing.
Part 1
How did it all begin?
My husband bought a house near our children’s school in Kuilsriver, and we decided to open a second-hand furniture store. Shortly after I completed a stained-glass course in Somerset West and made my very first stained-glass lamp—an orange and green one! I also began giving part-time stained glass craft classes in the single garage next to my shop.
One day, a client bought one of the furniture pieces and asked whether I could add a small stained-glass panel with a specific design. I said yes. Creating that small panel sparked something much bigger in me. It gave me the courage to take on two large stained-glass panels for my shop windows. Looking back now, I can see there were many mistakes in those early panels, and taking on such a big project so early in my stained-glass journey was ambitious—perhaps even a little over-enthusiastic! But I did it, and I am so glad I did.
Looking back at these early pieces, I now see more than just glass—I see growth, passion, and the beginning of something truly meaningful. They were the foundation of everything that followed. They gave me the courage to grow, experiment, and eventually take on commissioned work.
In Part 2, I’ll share how that journey continued.
