From a dream to an industry πΏπ¦π±
Green Route H**p Industries has been featured in Daily Maverick.
And for us, this is about far more than a feature.
It is recognition of a journey that started with a simple belief: South Africa should not have to import the future when we have the ability to grow, process, manufacture and build it here.
Our vision has always been bigger than h**p as a crop.
We see h**p as an industrial opportunity β from locally adapted genetics and farming, through fibre processing, spinning and weaving, all the way to locally manufactured textiles and other value-added products.
We are working to build a value chain that creates opportunities for farmers, manufacturers, textile workers, entrepreneurs and communities, while demonstrating what this crop can mean for South Africa's agricultural and manufacturing sectors.
The road has not been easy.
Building an emerging industry means navigating regulation, developing supply chains, proving quality, building markets and, in many cases, creating the infrastructure and knowledge that simply didn't exist before.
But that is what pioneers do.
They build where there is no blueprint.
They test where there is no data.
And they keep going when the easier option would be to wait for someone else to lead.
A huge thank you to Diana Neille and Daily Maverick for telling our story and shining a light on the people working to build a new chapter for South African h**p.
We are proud of how far we've come.
But we're even more excited about what comes next.
South African h**p. South African fibre. South African manufacturing.
And ultimately, a South African industry we can all be proud of. πΏπ¦
