Design begins with the details.

Yesterday, we welcomed the third group of designers to Surface Design Lab by BSH Walls & Floors for another hands-on exploration of surface design and its role in shaping interiors.

From experimenting with patterns, textures, and proportions to exploring how a rug can influence the character of a space, the session encouraged designers to take ideas beyond the expected and explore new possibilities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their perspectives, and brought fresh ideas to the table. We look forward to seeing these concepts evolve and come to life.

A creative dialogue between materials, textures, and colours.

Such an inspiring experience creating this mood board in collaboration with Kvadrat and Colab Library.

Exploring the relationship between tactile surfaces, rich textiles, natural stone, glass, and unexpected colour combinations reminded me why I love what I do.

I wanted to create a palette that feels sophisticated yet playful, balancing warm neutrals with deep burgundy, forest green, and subtle touches of blue.

For me, great design begins with curiosity, experimentation, and the courage to combine the unexpected.

Glass, given a second life.

BROKISGLASS transforms glass shards discarded during the production of handblown lighting into distinctive recycled glass panels. Developed through a collaboration between Janštejn Glassworks and BROKIS, the material features a distinct visual character shaped by fused glass fragments.

Designed for architectural cladding, mosaics, interior elements, and furniture, BROKISGLASS offers a play of texture, depth, and light. When backlit, its irregular patterns create striking three-dimensional effects, demonstrating how discarded material can become an integral part of architectural expression.

From olive pits to architectural surfaces. 🌿

Pit-board transforms discarded olive pits from Cyprus into a durable bio-panel, giving agricultural waste a second life as a distinctive surface material. Made with at least 60% agricultural waste, each panel combines four pit sizes to create a finish shaped by its origins.
