BURNING MAN 2026 - AXIS MUNDI 🌵🔥

It’s that time of year again…

Out in the Nevada desert, a city is about to rise from the dust, built by thousands of people, filled with art, mutant vehicles, music, strange little worlds, big ideas and an incredible amount of creativity.

Burning Man 2026 - Axis Mundi.

This year’s theme looks at the idea of the world tree - roots reaching into the earth, branches reaching into the sky, connecting us to each other and to the natural world. 🌳

Honestly, what we love about Burning Man goes way beyond the event itself.

For decades, Burning Man has pushed the boundaries of what a festival can be. It’s inspired countless events and communities around the world to think differently about art, participation, gifting, music, self-expression and creating temporary worlds together.

You can see little pieces of the Burn everywhere now - in the art, the wild builds, the costumes, the camps, the freedom to completely f**k with the usual rules of what an event is supposed to look like.

It’s not just a festival.

It’s a culture.
A playground.
A giant experiment in what happens when people are given permission to create something completely outside the ordinary.

And for us at Fairy Floss, that spirit has always been a huge part of why we do what we do.

ORIN AYA - WE’RE HERE 🌿🔥

And just like that… festival season has officially begun.

We’ve made it to Mungalli Falls, surrounded by lush rainforest, green hills, waterfalls, mist and that ridiculously beautiful Far North Queensland landscape.

And now the people are rolling in.

Four days of music, dancing, art, workshops, fire, good food, wild outfits and a whole lot of beautiful humans coming together to make this thing happen.

There’s something pretty special about arriving at a festival on day one - everything still unfolding, camps going up, old friends finding each other, new faces appearing, music starting to spill across the land…

FESTIVAL SEASON IS STARTING. WOOHOO !

The first one of the season is here - Orin Aya - and we’re already on the road!

Spring is finally showing up, the sun’s got a bit more bite, and we’re bloody ready to shake the winter off.

Time to dig through the wardrobe, pull out the festival gear, throw on the leather, layers, boots and a sh*tload of jewellery and get amongst it.

Dust. Music. Dancing. Mud. Cold mornings. Wild nights. Good people. Random conversations with strangers you somehow end up knowing for years.

That’s why we love festivals :)

And after a few chilly months, we’re really ready for it.

This look feels like it was pulled straight from a future-dystopian dream and rebuilt by hand ✨

Black and silver collide in layers of texture, straps, hardware, and detail - every piece intentional, every edge sharpened. Leather that moves like a second skin, shaped by tension, shine, and structure.

Some pieces begin as clothing.
Others begin as an obsession.

This wearable art piece was born from my fascination with the dark, surreal world of H. R. Giger and his biomechanical vision - where flesh meets machine, beauty meets the unsettling, and every detail in between.

I wanted to capture that same tension through sculptural shape and layers of metal and leather, accessories, and countless handcrafted details. Every strap, stud, and texture was carefully placed to build something that feels almost organic... yet engineered.

Behind the scenes, it was hours of sketching, experimenting, cutting, rebuilding, and refining until the piece finally came to life.

It's wearable art.
A glimpse into the strange and beautiful worlds that inspire me to keep creating.
