The hand-made is valuable because it contains something irreplaceable: human presence.
I think there’s a particularly beautiful idea hidden in the fact that handmade details are not valuable despite their subtle imperfections, but because they reveal a human being. Machines excel at repetition; hands excel at interpretation. A handmade garment shows that someone paid attention. And attention, perhaps, is one of the rarest luxuries there is.
