It is time to say goodbye

On June 12, 2017 I opened my page, On Thread, ready for my first day of business.

This page has seen me through so much in life. Parenting life. Celebrating my children’s sports with you all. The sudden and heartbreaking loss of my brother. Marriage and then divorce, and so much more.

In the beginning it was just something to keep me from feeling like I was “just a mum” which then after divorce I tried to make it more.

As a stay at home mum to 5, (3 at home), one special needs child and now 2 children with a rare genetic disorder which require frequent appointments and add in my children being in my care 100% of the time. I lived in hope that I could build my little business into something that would eventually support us all financially but it wasn’t to be. (I think this year in total I’ve made around $200 🙈)

So with all of that said. Thank you to each and every one of you who did support me over this time. To those that helped fundraise to support us with my brothers funeral. For those orders and even just shared my page.

You are all the reason my kids and I made it. The reason we are who we are today. And the reason we kept having hope.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I decided to have a go at making something a little special for my own Mum and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

We don’t have a family portrait. My brother passed away nearly 8 years ago so I love seeing all of us siblings together again.

If you would love one of these too, they are approx 13cm wide and printed in ceramic. With or without the hanging twine and just $25 each.

I woke up 2 hours before I needed to today with an instant feeling of heaviness. My jaw was tight. My neck was stiff. I felt tight in the stomach and had a huge feeling of overwhelm.
I don’t know why it came on so suddenly today. But it did. And this happens to me from time to time.
I am a single (but not available 😜) mum. The only adult in the house.
Before I went to bed I opened yet again, another letter to say I was behind in payments. I guess it was playing on my mind even when I was asleep.
I got up early and sat outside in the still of the morning listening to the waves crash on the beach while I debated whether I’d even have a shower before school drop off or after. Knowing full well if I did it after it meant I was a write off for the day. Knowing that I would come home and go straight to doing nothing and giving in to my anxiety, my mental health. I decided to make myself shower and stick to my routine. I even blow dried my hair.
I have SO much going on in life right now and it feels impossible to manage. Impossible to survive it. Yet somehow we do.
The world is full of overwhelm right now. Full of people struggling financially. Struggling to stay focussed. There are so many people going through such huge and life changing circumstances, and I just want to say. I see you. Loud and clear I see you.
If you are having a moment like I am right now and things just seem too big to deal with. Keep going.
Have that shower. Wash your hair. Sit outside in the sun. Go for a walk. Tackle one thing that’s been on your mind because self care isn’t just about taking timeout, it’s about getting the stuff done and dealt with so it clears your mind and I just think we need to normalise feeling this way from time to time.

We’ve had a luggage barrier and restraint bar installed so all 6 seats have a restraint clip for car seats, also has a 12v power system running to the back for running a fridge or something alike, is an ex government vehicle, asking for 11,850 but could probably work something out.i
