Fabric for our Cinnamon & Natural Cotton Ikat Scarf is hand woven to our required designs in approximately 30 metre lengths. Once the weaving process is completed, our tailor cuts this fabric to our desired Scarf lengths, finishing each end with tassels.

Then over to our friends in Luang Prabang ( Laos) to be laundered before shipping to us here at Port Willunga.

Before setting their looms our weavers will use traditional methods of dyeing the cotton strands with Tamarind to achieve this rich earthy colour.

Recently talking to a woman, she said to me.

“You know I am very fussy about a case for my glasses, but I have to tell you how much I love these fabric ones. They are so easy to find in my bag because of the fabric feel, the padding protects my glasses and they are a compact size, but easily fit my large sunglasses. So thank you!!”

And knowing the fabric used to make these has been hand woven by our weavers in Laos, with colours of natural dyes sourced from the earth, and sewn by a small sewing collective in Cambodia… We think these soft glasses cases rather special.🩷💚😎

Just pop them in the washing machine if they get a bit grubby

Here at Loom Designs we are conscious of minimising any waste from the production of our range of products. Our beautiful Loom Scrunchies are sewn from the remnants of the hand woven cotton fabric used to make our Textile Range.
Gorgeous natural dyes provide a range of colours, with soft cotton being gentle on your hair, and they really do stay in place.

Our Brass Spiral Earrings have been hand crafted from recycled artillery casings, remnants from past years of conflict in Cambodia. Our Maker Nith, works in his small workshop and hand makes beautiful items of Jewellery for us.

As a small business owner there are many times when doubt, uncertainty, and even fear can take hold, but when I read these reviews that you have taken the time to write, I am so incredibly grateful.

The weavers Looms will lay silent, whilst everyone within their village comes together during the planting and harvesting of their sustaining rice crop. A community coming together to work and provide for everyone, this is village life in Northern Laos.

We respect and honour this tradition, it aligns with our ethos of hand making, slow made village crafts and providing income for our weavers whilst remaining within their Village.
